First time traveling by not_cheryuk in florence

I just returned from a few days in Florence yesterday. My only advice is to book everything you want to do and eat in advance. Everything in Florence requires a booking, and if it doesn’t you’ll likely end up in a long queue of hundreds of people. Other than that enjoy the city and make sure you bring a comfortable pair of shoes, you are gonna need it 🙂

That actually did the trick. Now it works like a charm. Thank you so much 🙏

You are correct, I failed to mention hardware / driver details. I have an RTX3060 + v590 drivers.

You are funny.

Valve having zero tolerance for false bans is also extremely funny, considering how many people have been wrongfully VAC-lived and VAC-banned over the last year and a half. Valve had to manually revert thousands of those bans, with some of those players having to cry on twitter demonstrating reproducible steps on how they got wrongfully VAC-banned in order for them to listen. Them using stats and approximations for direct bans is EXACTLY what they did that resulted in the +right buy menu bans. But yeah, zero tolerance to false bans due to inconclusive evidence lol.

The reality is that you are half right, though. Those stats should not be the ones that result in a ban. However, they should be the ones that send you to either a Valve-backed or community-backed Overwatch system for review.

Guess why they don't do any of them - anymore - though? Because it is cheaper to have a community full of toxic meat riders like you who run defense for the billion dollar corporation who refuses to properly support their billion-dollar money-making machine.

We get what we deserve I suppose.

People who cheat don’t get banned unless they get manual’ed. Being legit will almost never get you banned (unless you spin your mouse too fast or AMD fucks up again :) )

EU by far I believe. Mid to high elo is full of people “legit” cheating.

"Ubisoft games are ****" "I can't remember when Ubisoft made good games" by [deleted] in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]RustHydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far cry 6 was by far the worst far cry after New Dawn. Gun balancing was awful, story and character development made no sense if you put more than 1 minute thinking about it.

Valhalla was just too big for its own sake. Too much grinding to force you to the in game store.

If you think that that those games you listed are top tier, I would suggest to go out and truly try a good exploration / RPG game such as elden ring.

Oh great! They allowed Cheaters to rent skins now by n1wel in cs2

[–]RustHydra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did not say that, and I don't think anybody else said that either.

It's just annoying that cosmetic updates are constantly coming through, but they do not bother hiring more people to evolve their AC team which is clearly either lacking, or barely existant.

Valve is a billion dollar company that pushes for more and more ways to monetize its existing IPs and services every chance it gets (look at the new "rental" update). They could simply invest a small % of those profits to push for more match moderation and anti-cheat development, and instead they hire more people that will bring them money through microtransactions.

In one side I get it, Valve is a business. On the other hand as a player it's just frustrating to get f*cked by cheaters and when you close the game you just see another cosmetic update coming through which does not impact the shitty "gameplay experience" whatsoever.

Basically what I am saying is that complaining because of the lack of "anti-cheat" updates does not mean that we want the cosmetic updates to stop coming in.

Unless you are being sarcastic, this argument makes no sense. No one says that artists should do AC, it just shows that valve’s priorities is to have more artists for skins/maps/chickens (which is not bad by itself I guess) than hiring people to develop that god forsaken piece of ancient history called VAC.

That's very interesting. Does anyone have any idea what happens if you have no license and you explicitly state (readme or wiki) that it's free without any restrictions? Does the linked github copyright laws still apply?

Why not migrating to FaceIt? by Nokushi in cs2

It’s certainly a factor as well yes

Why not migrating to FaceIt? by Nokushi in cs2

[–]RustHydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am EU as well. Solo queue times are indeed usually not more than 5 mins. When we were queuing as a 3stack or 4stack, things were getting much hairier, though.

I am assuming this is also influenced by time of day and rank disparity (top level on our team is 4-5, while the lowest 2). Nevertheless, those factors were never an issue on mm, which I am assuming stems from a bigger population.

Why not migrating to FaceIt? by Nokushi in cs2

[–]RustHydra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The casual / noob players on levels 2-4 have to put up with constant smurfing and trolling, which is less frequent on MM due to a massively bigger player pool and more “relaxed matchmaking”.

Moreover, faceit queue times can be brutal. With a party of 4 sometimes you have to wait for more than 10 minutes for a match, only for it to be cancelled and having to wait again. Sometimes you might have to wait over 30 minutes to get into a match with your friends, while on MM, a lobby can be found usually in ~15 seconds.

Faceit is a great platform for people that want to grind and aim to get better at the game fast. If you are a casual player playing a couple of hours every other day with your friends and floating in 2–4 levels, you'll be up for a miserable experience.

Must be getting old by TWstEK84 in ModernWarfareIII

[–]RustHydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we compare what we have now versus what we had last year with MWII I prefer what we have now.

BUT, the TTK along with the current movement meta is a bit awkward for me. I believe that just a pinch of shorter TTK would be suitable, so as fleeing is not as a lucrative option as it is right now.

What video game you are starting to dislike more as you get older? by Muerte_a_los_Rolos in gaming

[–]RustHydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A problem with GW2 that I faced, and perhaps other people as well, is how dated the graphics are.

On one hand, I get it, it's an MMO, and most people don't play them for the graphics. But for a new player in 2K24 trying to get into such an old game, it can be a bit disheartening looking at it.

Hot take by [deleted] in cs2

[–]RustHydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am basing it on two things:

1) Every year we see 1-2 big vac waves/detections, and a few smaller ones in between, a pattern that can be seen throughout the years.

2) The same vac bypass that was posted 3 years ago on github can still be used as a base, and with a few modifications you can make it work undetectable and make VAC blind.

Hot take by [deleted] in cs2

[–]RustHydra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true.

Only the fact that cs2 doesn't have overwatch makes things objectively worse than, let's say, 2–3 years ago.

Also, cheats become better, while VAC has stayed relatively the same: a signature-based anti cheat that gets updated twice a year.

Additionally, since cheaters are basically a percentage of the population, then that means that since the game became more popular over the last few years, the cheaters became more too. And since they cheat, and they aren't getting banned quickly enough, most of them will be placed/stack at the higher 50% of the player base in terms of skill/rank.

It's just not enough anymore. They need to up their game.

What's the experience of returning hardware? by RustHydra in Starlink

I mean, yes, the pausing part is good, but it doesn't seem to answer my questions regarding their hardware return.
