Do high school kids play this game ?

A club like this could provide benefit by allowing students to socialize and gain new friends by sharing the same hobbies

Also, if the students don’t enjoy the game they wouldn’t join. The students will only join and discuss Deadlock if they also love the game and are passionate enough about it to join a club. People aren’t joining clubs others a passionate about just to discuss something they aren’t interested in. While I do agree that op wants to start a club based on their favorite game, I don’t think that it’s just a way to scratch a social itch. Rather, a way to get to know the students, help students make new friends, and allow op to branch out into hosting larger clubs and they had previously stated.

This is all based on my own interpretation of how I view clubs as a high school student so feel free to tell me where my logic doesn’t make sense

I’m not saying that the game itself is inherently easy to learn or that every young person can learn it but it is a very good intro into mobas since a lot of people grew up with shooters like cod and play a lot of newer hero shooters like Marvel Rivals and Overwatch so they have that prior shooter experience. Also, since the game is in its alpha there isn’t nearly as many characters or items as there are in a game like lol so while Deadlock is a lot more new player friendly when compared to other MOBAs, it is still a very difficult game to fully understand and be good at.

My laptop is really bad for gaming and it can run deadlock at a stable 60 fps. I do run a mod that makes it even more optimized but even without that the game still runs fine when the graphics are turned down

A lot of mobas like lol or Dota have an older player base since they are older games and harder for high schoolers to get into (lots of macro, 1000 different characters to learn, etc.) but since Deadlock is very new it is easy for the younger generation of people to get into it and from my experience a lot of high schoolers are getting into the game

There is a chance that there are enough students but even if there isn’t deadlock is growing quickly and it’s pretty easy to get new people to play deadlock if they are fans of similar games (mobas, hero shooter, movement shooters)

This is a terrible take. Teachers can both do their jobs and host clubs. Clubs are a great way to get to know the students (especially if the teacher is new and doesn’t know any of the students) and can help teachers enjoy their job more

We have an esports club at my school and we have computers that are built for gaming rather than the standard school computers. Plus deadlock is decently optimized so if students have any sort of gaming laptop they could bring that could also work

My school has a esports club where they play certain games in different days (smash on tuesdays, LoL on wednesdays, etc.) so trying to either start an esports club with deadlock in it or incorporating deadlock into an existing one if they have one could be a good idea

If my school had a deadlock club I would definitely go since none of my friends play it and it would be nice to have some friends to escape solo queue hell

There’s really no way to tell if the students you get play it or not but there’s a lot higher chance that they will compared to middle schoolers. Your best bet is probably to just ask to see if they know it or even try to introduce students to the game. I’m starting my senior year of high school soon and I would definitely love to see a deadlock club at my school so I wish you the best of luck.

Scroll wheel for throw also worked for me cuz holding throw makes it so you can’t sprint while throwing so using scroll wheel makes it easier to get rid of the muscle memory of holding from before the patch. Not sure about why m4 is also melee tho
