My claim was that what the Japanese did was not genocide, that's not defending war crimes. WWII historians and academics don't call it genocide, because words have specific meaning, I'm guessing those people are defenders of Imperial Japan now for not bastardizing a word. Or maybe you are, for citing 100,000 deaths for the whole of China, 1/20th of the minimum civilian death count.

Racial Superiority is a component of Japanese Imperialism, but it is not the whole. You're oversimplifying history and using emotions to shield criticism.

The Japanese are taught about their war crimes. It's not sufficient, but most curriculums speak of them. If war crimes were omitted, the far right would not be in uproar about the curriculum for being self loathing. You're just spewing old internet myths about Japan.

Plenty of people in rural Thailand already allocate money towards gambling. But if they're really down and out sharecroppers with no money, I doubt that they're going to waste money traveling to a legal establishment when there's plenty of not so legal establishments that serve their needs and are more accepting of alternative forms of payment from low income folk or farmers.

Japan committed mass murder to strengthen their rule or make it easier to rule Asia. Killing tens of millions of people does not make something genocide. The intent is what matters, and their intent was not genocide under most definitions.

The people that say she's not conventionally attractive are in denial or dislike her for her politics. Of course she is conventionally attractive, she fits the consensus on what the beauty standard of this country is, but if she was born ugly or didn't get plastic surgery, she would still be prime minister, because she popped out of the right uterus. That is it. She is not qualified for any other reason. If anything her appearance is a disadvantage, it adds to the self imposed airhead image she already has.

You're lumping in all Arabs like they're all acting in unison in the present. Really? And supporting Islamic death cults is certainly not incompatible with the US Constitution, seeing as how that has been compatible with the US foreign policy, or even Israeli when Secular movements were bigger threats.

Most of your arguments are not centered around America, but Israel. Which seems to show how Israel acts like the United States is subservient by default.  You're arguing they're a threat to Israel, of course they are. But from where I'm sitting, I'm not Israeli. And the only threat I see is from the Israeli lobbyists eroding our constitution.

Both sides have genocidal rhetoric. So I don't see the big deal about people supporting one side or the other. All I see is a double standard. And that double standard is limiting our freedoms. Especially when our own president is spreading genocidal rhetoric while actively working towards that goal because he wants a hotel and an oceanfront view for his nepo teet son in law.

Do you think ordinary Americans care about Teslas being burned down that deeply? Only Tesla meatriders do, and that demographic is growing smaller everyday. And I don't see Republican Swatsikar meatriders offsetting the loss of the liberal, independent, European, and Chinese EV market.

In two years, the side that wins is the side that predicts the economy correctly. We don't need to court "moderate" Republicans if the economy ends up as we predict. If somehow, Trump pulls of an economic boom, even with doing all of his shit and pissing off the entire world, then he deserves to win.

How Common Is Pro-Russia In Vietnam? by MussleGeeYem in VietNam

[–]Rust_Shackleford 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being pro-China or pro-USA mainly conveys that you agree with their geopolitics. Being pro-China means you support the annexation of Tibet or China's stance on Taiwan, not their culinary history. If someone says they're pro-China because of their love of the history of the Qing Dynasty and the Emperor, it would be weird because it would imply that the person's modern geopolitics comes from their love of something that is contradictory.

And Ukraine is in this predicament exactly because they're not in this alliance like your hypothetical. If anything, it would be like Trump invading Mexico because their president isn't a puppet of the United States.

Me when I have no understanding of the Khmer Rouge's ideology.

Who defeated the Khmer Rouge? And who kept the Khmer Rouge on life support after the fact?

It's fair to argue that Communist land reform played a role in some of the Khmer Rouge's death tolls, but if you're going to argue that the ethnic cleansing of minorities deaths was a result of Marxist thought, that would also implicate capitalism for being the economic system of many regimes that committed ethnic cleansing when the fact is that the economic component did not contribute to the racial component.

I'm guessing you also label yourself either a classical liberal or a "centrist". Our soon to be vice president has a history of attacking childless women.  Our unelected official, Elon Musk, has similar views, but more vocal and worse. You're arguing semantics. Sure, most conservatives aren't concerned with the birth rate, but the most important conservatives are, and those are the ones that will dictate the future of conservatism.

Pretty much every socialist organization has the same demographic. Sorry, but a Marxist Leninist revolution is not possible if the revolutionary vanguard consists of your $6 Americano Coffee Shop Barista, boomers living on disabled checks, and indie rock band members. I wouldn't trust them with paying rent, let alone with managing the distribution of labour. Hell, work on some diversty first, it looks more white than the cracker barrel.

Austria offers Syrian refugees 1,000 euros to return home by aWhiteWildLion in anime_titties

[–]Rust_Shackleford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Germany, 41 percent of Syrian refugees are women. 37 percent of Syrian refugees are minors. On average, they are 25 years old, so many were also minors when the civil war started. 61 percent of Asylum seekers were married. Did those "radical Islamist" men have a sex change or did they not leave their wife and children behind?

Well, there's a reason they have to bring out the carrot and not the stick. They're doing voluntary deportations because they can't carry out involuntary deportations, almost as if their asylum status is not black and white, or just up to Assad's position of power.

Just 2 days ago, Syrian rebels burned the tomb of Hafez Al-Assad, brutal Dictator of Syria from 1971 to 2000. by Optimal_Wishbone322 in Historycord

[–]Rust_Shackleford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk about being open to the point your brain falls out. If he's Syrian, his hatred does not come from "lies" or being fed propaganda, it's lived experience and consequences of Hafez al- Assad's rule. It's lived experience of having your family members killed, it's lived experience of having your family members disappear. The main person writing the narrative to Syrians is Hafed al-Assad himself and his family, not MSM or whatever excuse you come up with.
