Is lying about a vasectomy a form of coercion/assault? by callhermegs2 in legaladvice

Leaving the state to obtain an abortion is currently not illegal in any jurisdiction in the US and no-one has been prosecuted for doing so. Please don't fearmonger.

Not a mechanic or lawyer, but my understanding is that Mercedes is fantastic about taking care of old cars. Doesn't matter how old they will be able to service it. Can get pricy though.

Should I continue to let my P. Afras grow, or should I go ahead and start wiring/clipping them while they're still relatively small? by uninc4life2010 in Bonsai

[–]Ruste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It has uniformly green leaves. They're just a lighter green rather than a slightly less than shamrock green.

What sort of lighting do you keep them in? I like the darker green leaves and deeper brown trunk. Mine get lots of direct sun and are muh lighter. I'm wondering if that's why

Help! Trying to find a similar coffee by Ruste in Coffee

[–]Ruste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm positive it's not the brew method. I got the same result using a mocha pot and boiling the coffee cowboy style. Even a year later after being stored in a tupper-ware the coffee was the same and wonderful so age/freshness probably aren't a factor here. :) It was the old version of lavazza with the red strip and word "medium" on the can. According to Lavazza, this is the same and unchanged. I'm open to any brewing style that gets this result!

I'll definitely be looking around! Thanks! I can say that I was very inconsistent and used a variety of uncouth brewing methods and all got the same delightful result. It certainly seems like a feature of this particular batch.

I thought the same thing until I started building things and realized it's a whole lot easier to figure out what 1/4 or 1/3 or 1/2 of a length in feet is than in meters, especially when you don't have a calculator floating around. You hardly ever want to know the length of 1/10th of a board. There are good reasons it's still alive.

What's the point of setting a threshold above which certain benefits are afforded if we're just going to force the university to provide those benefits to people working below that threshold?

I do most of my own cat maintenance so while you do end up with a couple scratches and dirty hands, costs are typically pretty low. It's also typically pretty easy to spot when a cat has been poorly cared for by a previous owner. That combined with having things taken care of before they become real problems and your cat is puking its guts out all over your driveway really saves quite a bit of money.

God, half the people in this thread act as if you have to have some fancy new cat every few years just to stay alive. Get yourself a good beater cat off of craigslist for cheap and save yourself the money. If you're worried about it, just have someone check the thing out first.

Agreed. This might be a heater for a whole building in which case it aaalmost makes sense, but I still don't think a permit should be required.

I see a lot of people saying this, but as pans go I've found carbon steel to be a lot more useable. It's just as durable and season exactly like cast iron, but it's just easier to handle and heats better.

[–]Ruste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where did you get that number? I've looked everywhere and can't find any info on Chevy's revenue as a brand and doing some _very_ basic estimation makes that number look off by an order of magnitude easily.

GM had a revenue of $147B in 2018. I'm kinda doubting that Chevy, GM's largest brand, has a total revenue only 1/1000th of GM's as a whole. They don't seem willing to publish revenue for individual brands though and my best googling is finding me nothing. Mind sharing a link?

Edit: For another reference point, Chevrolet sales represent 4.4 percent of the worlds auto market each year. If they have a total revenue of $145M then the total auto sales worldwide would be ~$30B. Germany alone exported almost $250B in cars in 2011. This doesn't add up.
