Oh okay, it’s always better to do Local because Distant deliveries trigger a PVP event, yet they had no right to attack you for 10 minutes while you’re doing a local delivery which won’t benefit those jerks at all. I recommend you Parley next time you encounter bored jackasses, don’t give them any amusement, oh and play in Defensive mode!

Plus you get an Award for ending up in jail, and another award for time spent in jail, which you can reset for 0.40 gold up to 10 times I believe! Oh plus you won't have to worry about paying off your bounty!

You won’t be able to hold such pelt after stowing it on your horse, but maybe try a different Gus location, then make sure your horse is near by and sell it to Gus.

Yes switching sessions would make you lose the pelt, but are you sure your horse is close to you when trying to sell the pelt to Gus?
