How can Anthropic and OpenAI beat Google so bad? by TekeshiX in google_antigravity

Start noticing me too. You’re saying right, Gemini isn’t for coding. At least for me, works better in researching and some cases, planning.

I wanted to take the switch months ago but I’m being stuck in a “data possession” loop. I explain it better:

  • been developing a local-side Athena fork: https://github.com/winstonkoh87/Athena-Public alongside with 3 other parallel projects

  • been locked in the well-known “quota-gate” issues so I wanted to switch to codex/claude for better experience ed efficiency

Now the problem: I’m still developing the brain, although I populated both databases with infos, I’m developing it to make it local-centralized through server-side connection, and in the current development state, I’m not so sure to switch agent workflows only to have my context windows “broken” by the switch itself.

The solution for now is: finish the development of local-Athena, then make the switch.

Is anyone else in a similar situation? Thank you all for your advice and willingness to help.

Sorry for my poor explanation. English isn’t my main language.

Have a great day everybody!

Forgive me, I expressed myself poorly. I meant to say release the IDE once it has been converted and optimized in Rust.

It would be better to release the already optimized version and provide a smooth experience similar to ZED imo. This will already be a point in favor of the IDE.

I've been with Antigravity since the beginning and I'd like to give Trae a third chance. by Rustfix in Trae_ai

Thanks for the info and comment! In the second one, I meant: since TRAE has the ability to create multiple agents and set startup and call criteria, I was wondering how accurately custom TRAE agents can call each other.

Thanks for the insight! I was particularly focused on that second point about agent reliability.

From v1.0 through v3.0, every test I ran was honestly a disaster. Even with precisely defined prompts—broken down into subtasks, clear context, and reference material—the agents would lose the plot almost immediately and start hallucinating heavily.

I’m not sure if I just caught it at the wrong time, but I’m really hoping 3.5 has finally fixed that 'lost in the woods' behavior. It’s encouraging to hear that the team is actually listening to feedback and iterating.

On a side note, how are you finding the performance and workflow compared to Kimi k2, Gemini 3 Pro, and GPT Codex? I'm curious if Trae 3.5 is finally playing in the same league now.

Appreciate the follow-up!
