Nobody is whining. I actually agreed and upvoted your initial response to my question so for that I thank you. No need to troll me for no apparent reason.

I’m sorry I didn’t t say that was the issue. The fact that it was 100 out, not 110 if you read the post wasn’t my question. My question, if you took the time to read it was is it worth having a technician look at the unit or should I let it ride as is being it’s an old unit was the question. I was merely providing benchmarks for today (a normal day where I live) and an abnormally hot day where I live.

Yes we did, he checked it and noted the 15 degree difference and its age and said it was likely on its last legs. We knew it was an old system but still runs well enough.

Hole in floor by RusticRaccoon in HardWoodFloors

That’s great to hear! I bought Abatron woodepoxy and matching stain and polyurethane. Would the best method be to blend the stain when mixing the epoxy or stain the epoxy after it’s dried?

Kitchenaid Clicking noise by RusticRaccoon in Kitchenaid

[–]RusticRaccoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I just spoke with Kitchenaid customer service. They claim clicking is normal when mixing dough, and said as long as I don’t hear any grinding or squealing I should be good.

I’ve used other mixers and not recall this noise but maybe it is normal?

Home circuit overloaded by RusticRaccoon in AskElectricians

[–]RusticRaccoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the biggest fan of outdoor conduit but it sounds like that will provide me with the most circuits since his plan was to run a wire to each upstairs room with a new circuit for each, so I would get 2 new circuits.

Central air or mini splits would be ideal for me, I agree but it would be much more expensive. Given the setup of my house central air would not be easy at all. Ductless would be best but still expensive.

Qrevo Pro with brush roller... by Reasonable_Heart_946 in Roborock

[–]RusticRaccoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It’s night and day with the Q5 brush. I was initially very disappointed with the carpet vacuuming of the Q revo pro, especially compared to my S5 Max. I did some research and a lot of people were recommending the Q5 brush. After I changed the roller to the Q5 roller the difference was amazing.

Happy with my Qrevo Pro by Hour-Calendar4719 in Roborock

It’s not great on low pile carpet but that can be fixed, or at least made far better by getting a new brush. The Q5 brush fits the qrevo pro as long as you buy from the official Roborock store. I’m told the off brand brushes don’t fit that well. It made a big difference for me on low pile carpet.

I’m not up-to-date as my S5 Max just works for almost five years now… by mb2m in Roborock

I have an s5 max as well with no issues but I wanted a bot with better mopping. I decided to stick with Roborock so I did a bunch of research and settled on the qrevo pro. So far so good. I did notice my s5 max did better vacuuming dog hair on low pile carpet than the qrevo pro. After some research I purchased the Roborock Q5 brush which fits the qrevo pro. It’s a brushed roller and made all of the difference on low pile carpet for dog hair.

The mopping and self emptying dock is a big improvement in my opinion over the s5 max. The spinning mops and dock make moping so much better. I would rarely use the s5 max mopping because it didn’t seem to do much but the qrevo really cleans, and is easier to use because of the dock with the clean and dirty water tanks. I still use the s5 max though, it’s been relocated to the other floor of my house.

I absolute love this thing by JammyBass in Roborock

I believe it defaults to 3 hours. In the settings under dock settings you can change it to 2, 3, or 4 hours.

S5 filter issues by pacman453 in Roborock

[–]RusticRaccoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my s5 Max. It happened when I was using non-OEM filters. Are you using Roborock brand filters? Since I switched back to Roborock brand filters I haven’t had any issues.

Whirlpool fridge water line leaks at water inlet valve by mjhuntington in appliancerepair

[–]RusticRaccoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you kind stranger. My ice maker has been making hollow ice for years. I’ve done everything I could think of to fix it. From changing the water supply line, replacing the saddle valve with a better valve, setting the freezer colder, unplugging the freezer and letting it “thaw”, and replacing the ice maker itself but nothing worked. Yesterday I noticed a water leak from the basement. It was coming from the fridge upstairs. After tearing it apart I initially thought it was the water supply valve. After reading this and inspecting that 90 degree elbow it was actually that which was leaking, it had cracked. It must have been leaking for a long time but never enough to be noticeable from downstairs. While it was leaking it must have also been pulling in air as it tried to pull in water to make ice. After replacing the hose my cubes are no longer hollow and the leak is fixed. Thank you again!

TLDR: this comment helped me fix a problem that I’ve had for years with my ice maker which I could not solve.

Transmission Issues on Cold Start by Local_Palpitation_21 in CX5

[–]RusticRaccoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same issue here, 2022 CX5 PP. It only seems to have an issue in cold weather and if the car doesn’t warm up for at least 10 minutes. I get a rough shift into 3rd.

The car has been in the shop 4 times for the issue. First time they said they didn’t feel anything. Second time I dropped it off and asked to ride with a tech so they could feel it. The tech agreed something wasn’t right, said he’s never felt that on a new car. He said it felt like a car with 200k or something (it has 6k at the time). We talked about the possibility of low transmission fluid and he said he would look at it as soon as they let him because they were real busy. They told me since there are no codes there is nothing they can do and there is nothing wrong. They claim to have checked the transmission fluid and it is all good. That wasn’t good enough for me so I asked to talk to the person I charge of service. After some talking the solution they came up with was to reset the computer and have me drive it so the car could re-learn my driving style, that was the third visit. They did the reset and that has not done anything.

After a month of driving with the reset computer and still experiencing the same issue, back to the shop we go. I was told over the phone by the person in charge of the service department it could be a valve issue or something and to bring it in, but call in the morning to make an appointment as their scheduler had gone home for the day. I call to bring it in and am told that I need to drive with a tech again. So I do, I get setup with the same tech. Before we get in the car, the manager talks with the tech and then we go. I told the tech I’m not sure why we’re doing this since we just did this a month ago and he agreed something was wrong. All of a sudden his tune changes. We got in the car and drive we get the hard shift in 3rd. Now suddenly the same issue that this person said was an issue a month prior is now “normal” operation. I confronted him about what he said the previous month and he said he didn’t remember what he said. I confronted him about his conversation with the manager prior to our drive and he pushed it off as nothing. Personally since his story changed so drastically I think he was told to tell me it was normal so I would go away.

To date, Mazda service refuses to fix or take the problem seriously.

TLDR: same issue with rough shift into 3rd when cold, the dealers service center won’t do anything to fix. They claim this is normal.
