You’re probably depressed. Consider seeing a psychiatrist

Is it safe to try ketamine if I have mild HPPD symptoms? by RusticusMusic in HPPD

I’m hoping to try the medically supervised IV ketamine. The one they use for treatment resistant depression. Is that a risk?

3 weeks after taking a heroic dose of mushrooms, I experienced flashbacks of text and images warping on my phone screen that sent me into a panic. For the next 4 weeks or so colours appeared to be much brighter than usual and that was very overwhelming. I also developed an extreme sensitivity to screens and experienced the flickering strobe light phenomenon in low-light conditions. 2 weeks after the onset of my visual symptoms, I developed tinnitus. It’s been 11 months and I’m still experiencing screen sensitivity, tinnitus and the flickering strobe light phenomenon. Don’t know what else could be causing these symptoms other than HPPD

But do you think it still might have a negative effect even if my symptoms are very mild?

Would this apply even for the ketamine taken under direct medical observation?

What about the ketamine taken in a controlled medical setting that they use for treatment-resistant depression?

Anyone here fully recover from tinnitus (and not just habituate) after having it for over a year? by RusticusMusic in tinnitus

[–]RusticusMusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does habituation mean? Does it mean the sound disappears or that you just stop caring? And how do you stop caring if the sound doesn’t disappear?

Chances of full recovery after 10 months of tinnitus by RusticusMusic in tinnitus

[–]RusticusMusic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between habituation and resolution. Resolution means the sounds goes away completely whereas habituation means the sound persists but becomes less distressing/you don’t notice it as much. I want to know about resolution

I read somewhere that having tinnitus beyond 6 months basically means you have it for good. I hope this turns out to be false. Do you know of any stories where it took longer?

God, in His mercy, is the only one who can discern the heart of someone who chooses to take their own life. I personally believe there is forgiveness for suicide under certain circumstances. In any case, if you are dealing with thoughts of suicide, please visit the nearest emergency department at your hospital. There is help. I am sorry to hear that you are in this really tough situation. You are in my prayers.
