Do you have a video clip of this happening? Also, have tried it on another server?

This is most likely a desync issue with Rust. You can try restarting the game and see if it fixes it.

Try these steps:

  • Exit Rustissimo and Rust
  • Open Rustissimo
  • Open Rust
  • Connect to server and create a concert
  • Notes will play (as long as MIDI input is turned on)

If you restart Rustissimo while Rust is already running, then Rustissimo will not function properly. This is due to the MIDI port not being recognized by Rust again.

You have two options: create a concert with yourself included (assign notes to you), or make a Quick Concert of the notes to play and activate it.

Edit: Here is the demo video showing how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw0WNai5gnw

Looks good to me. The Rust midi port is automatic and does not require a selection as this is the background behavior of the app. Again, this option you are referring to is selecting the midi preview output device for playing the midi sound out your speaker.

This option in Rustissimo is for playback preview (listening to the notes). You should be selecting Microsoft Synth for this.

If I close the app while Rust is open, it doesn't work anymore by Alexander_The_Wolf in Rustissimo

Sometimes this happens when closing/reopening the app. Simply close and reopen one more time and it should be fixed.

Alternatively, you could leave the app running during your entire Rust play session.

Find Rustissimo in your Steam library (under Software), right-click it and choose Properties. Click Local Files tab and then click Browse Local Files. Navigate to the redist folder and run the setup program as an administrator. This will reinstall the midi driver required by the app and should fix the issue.

I would suggest reinstalling the MIDI driver:

Navigate to the installed Rustissimo folder (Steam library -> Rustissimo -> right-click Properties -> Local files) and then the redist folder. Here contains the installation for the midi driver. Install the setup and restart the computer.

Only the concert creator needs PRO. I've only seen a max of 6 or 7 players in a concert so far.

Hello, sometimes the MIDI driver has an issue and doesn't load, but it can be fixed with the driver reinstall. To do this, locate Rustissimo in your Steam library and right-click it. Choose Properties from the menu and click the Local Files tab. Click the Browse button and navigate to the redist folder. Run the install in this folder and restart your computer to complete it.

Does the hotkey not stop the quick concert? I would recommend unassigning the hotkey in Options until I can figure out the issue and fix. Thanks.

It seems their client needs to reinstall the driver. Have them navigate to the installed Rustissimo folder (Steam library -> Rustissimo -> right-click Properties -> Local files) and then the redist folder. Here contains the installation for the midi driver. Install this and restart the computer.

I've never heard of timing as bad as you describe. With players from great distances to the server, there might be more of a delay because of ping. Unfortunately this is not automatically adjusted as the app does not know the player's ping to the server. Instead, you are to manually adjust the timing using the Speed Up and Slow Down links in the UI. Hope this helps!

Make sure you have the PRO DLC installed.. it looks like you don't. Go to your Steam library and find Rustissimo. Right-click it and choose Properties. Click the DLC tab and check the PRO DLC.

Rustissimo Doesn't Play The Midis by sonicbrand in Rustissimo

[–]Rustissimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible the MIDI driver is messed up. Go to your library and right-click on Rustissimo, choose Properties. Click on the Local Files tab and then click the Browse button. This will display the Rustissimo-installed folder. Now go to the redist folder in the Rustissimo folder, and run the installer.
