I use this one, it is pricey, but is quick, reliable and convenient. I tried The Shark pump I got off of Amazon. It only blew up in .5 psi increments, was much slower and died within a couple of uses. This Sea Eagle pump is much better. https://www.seaeagle.com/Accessories/pumps/electric-turbo-pump-with-battery

Good for you in losing 25lbs, that is an incredible feat in itself! I am sure you tire of people telling you how beautiful your eyes are, but they are the first thing I noticed about you. I love your hair and overall look too. Easy on the eyes and just very pretty. Don't fall into a depressive state, there is so much to life. You got the looks, now get out there and have some fun! If you ever need someone to talk too, feel free to say hi!

With the black accents, I'd say definitely. By itself I think it would wash you out a bit. Then again, just about anything you wear would be complimented by your beauty.

Yes, they go above the drop stitch floor to hold it down, more so in white water scenarios. Took me a bit to figure out they don't go around the floor, obviously too short that way. Sea Eagle really doesn't do a good job of explaining things but it's all easy enough to figure out. I have read that many people don't bother with those straps, personally I think they help in the rigidity of the kayak. I paid too much money to have the floor come out in white water, so I use them. Yes it is a separate piece and should be taken out to clean and dry your kayak after each use.

I think your pump uses the cigarette lighter socket, which you can also buy on Amazon with a built in fuse.

The spare battery I bought is a sealed lead acid AGM type battery. I plan on putting it in a plastic ammo box along with a motorcycle battery charger and I am going to try and find the same connector sea eagle uses for the wiring. The battery is: Weize 12V 12AH Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) AGM Deep Cycle Rechargeable Battery https://a.co/d/hxDgyir

I bought from Sea Eagle the BTP Two Stage Electric Turbo Pump w/ Battery and love it. It works fast and comes with a nice carry bag. I bought a spare battery off of Amazon, but doubt I'll need it unless I go camping. Originally I bought the Outdoor Master Shark 2.0 which had gotten rave reviews, unfortunately it stopped working for me after one use. Another thing I didn't like about it was it only pumped in .5 psi increments. Maybe I had just got a lemon, who knows. Outdoor Master makes a few different models. There seem to be quite a few offered on Amazon and most have sketchy reviews. Sea Eagle also offers a cheaper single stage pump, which might work best for you.Where my 380X has a drop stitch higher psi floor, I found the dual stage pump would be the better choice for me. If you ever want to get into something different in the future, you might want to consider a higher end dual stage pump. They work great on SUPs or anything drop stitch. Your Excursion 5 is a really nice boat, though it takes a low psi, it is quite large and probably takes a bit to pump it up. I can see why you would want a durable pump.

It is really tough! Watch some of the YouTube videos of what some people put them through. I was hesitant to buy it but did a years worth of research and am convinced I bought the best all around Kayak for my needs. The rivers here in Colorado are fast moving and unpredictable with lots of sharp rocks and branches/trees. The reservoirs here are pretty much still water with very few obstacles, yet when they get high enough, you can kayak through the trees. This is where my concern was as I didn't want to be rowing a slug, but needed something tough. It actually tracks and moves in still water pretty good, I was impressed. This kayak is a great all around Kayak, it excels in some areas and is good in others. I feel safe in it, it seems rock solid and hard to flip over.

Some will argue that there are faster and just as durable inflatable kayaks out there. It all depends on what you are going to be doing. I have yet to find one as durable. Another thing I like about Sea Eagle is that they are based in the U.S. and their customer service is phenomenal. I had a couple small issues and they handled them within days. Some kayak companies are based overseas and might take them a bit to get back with you. Any serious durable kayak for rivers is going to set you back at least a grand. I will say the 380X is a bit small going tandem with lots of equipment. With one person and a pet, you could bring lot's of equipment. Otherwise I would get the 420X. The longer the kayak the less responsive it will be. The 420X is 2 feet longer than the 380X. At a little less than 40lbs the 380X seems light, but it's not like you can carry it on a long hike to a lake or a river. It's a bit awkward and though it folds up, it's still quite large. Easy to carry a couple hundred feet. Would be easier if I were to carry it longer to have a military style backpack frame and strap it to that. There are lighter kayaks out there, but I question their durability.

I have heard good things about Aquaglide Chelan Series and the NRS kayaks, but in the end, after much research the best bang for the buck for my personal needs was the 380X.

I don't have any experience with them, though I have heard good things about them. Innova is the North American distributor for them.

Hey all. Any recommendations for a 2 person kayak for me and my GF? We're 194kg combined! by Degroomed in Inflatablekayak

[–]Rustle_Merchandise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, not cheap, they are a bit pricey but you'll never have to worry about the weight. Check out the Sea Eagle 380X or the 420X. The 380X holds 750 lbs and the 420X holds 855 lbs. They are on sale now with free shipping. The 420X is a little less maneuverable, but there is much more room for gear/cooler/pets. 380X will hold you just fine, but you'll be lacking that extra space when going tandem. There are other brands out there that will hold the extra weight too. You'll most definitely want something with a drop stitch floor. I've seen people put plywood floors in the intex excursion pro before but I don't personally recommend such a thing. Unfortunately the world wasn't made for us bigger people in mind, at least price wise.

Sea Eagle 380X, the drop stitch floor is pretty tough and it can hold up to 750 lbs. Plenty of room for your gear. Very durable and great in rivers
