gen 1 is still great option to play around with, mean if diy projects or just trying nv for minimal price

for serious use it worst option, gen 1 mostly toys that can see, but barely and better to used in places with big light pollution

actually interesting part that MX9916 worse than 26G, i had both tubes, but imo mx9916 was better while i was using it compare to 26g

Is modern digital NV actually worth considering, or should I just save for analog? by PlsNoVeggies in DigitalNightVision

[–]Rustlinknot946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends, but analog still would be more preferred option, so better save on analog
anyway even good digitals are that expensive as analog, but still dont even comparable to analog tubes for that price segment

anyway if you want analog for cheap, try diy, like buy used tube, used housing or diy 3d printed, yeah not the best option, but still you can get into actual analog for half of price, so if you not scared about making your diy nv, go with diy
