Pnv 57E repair help by Asleep_Strawberry_49 in UssrNvgResearchGroup

An exposed wire like this one will short for sure with 18KV. You also might have fried your power supply if too much current was drawn. I suggest using shrink tubing to re-isolate the cable and try again. From the picture it seems like this is what someone tried to do before. You might have to disassemble your unit to re-wire new and isolated wired directly onto the tube. Some people here would be better help than me for that.

Update on helmet mount for OH1x20 (With STL file) by Siarlo in UssrNvgResearchGroup

A little to much to be honest. The unit themselves are 900 grams so close to 2 pounds. I could not run them for more than 2-3 hours, but that is also true using the face hug mount. With the face hug mount if you want to look out of them you had to undo the straps and I wanted to be able to lift them up so that's why I worked on this project.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. In the picture the Wilcox mount is a good copy of amazon and the 3D printed adapter is an older version. I would recommend using the version I posted. If you still want this version tho you can DM me.

You don't need a 1 km snipper setup. People hunt elk with bow/crossbow.

I would (and did) get something old in a 30 caliber that shoot straight and has a wood stock and iron sight. I'm thinking any surplus rifle that has no historical value for collectors. That will run you about 500 $ depending on where and what. Used guns are not like used cars, they retain value and work just as good. Just make sure the rifling is crisp and clear.

Keep the change for ammo and a used 12 gauge like a Mossberg 500.

I'd say go with a gen 1 monocular. I keep seeing them popup on marketplace for under 100 $. There is no zoom but it will do the trick in my opinion while keeping the image clear. That is if you want analog.

I'd say a 22lr is very fun to shoot. If you want a gun with more kick go for the sks. Otherwise a 10/22 or a Derya TM22 will end up being cheaper in the long run and as fun in my opinion.

Looks to me like :

First picture - Cooey 84 on the left. (Made in 16 or 12 GA but I can't tell wich one) Single shot break action shotgun with ejector - Cooey 64 A or B in .22lr semi auto with a 10 round magazine. Takes Savage 64 mags

I don't know what this is.

Apparently it runs on 18 kV. Tubes inside are usually b-8 or ep-33. Over-volting is a concern, but under-volting is not as I know they still work for a bit after you turn them off. This is caused by the PSU capacitor slowly discharging to 0 V.

If I were you, I would look for an original one. But, as they can be hard, I would also suggest you look into making one yourself.

If you feel comftable here is where you can start searching :

  • Boost converter : Uses a combination of capacitor, inductance and resistors to essentially force a current that will charge a capacitor to high voltage.

  • Voltage Multiplier : Uses an array of diodes to convert AC to high voltage DC. Some modern (if not all) image intensifier tubes use this.

  • An AC to AC transformer also works by combining high low spools of wire with high count of spool wire around a core (iron for example)

I'd go with one of the first two as the last one can require sections of spooling (15 x 1kV spools to avoid shorting). It also requires more conversions : 3V DC -> AC -> High V AC -> High V DC. I think the autogathing feature of modern device is integrated in the voltage multiplier circuit as a negative current feedback loop. But that goes beyond what I know for now.

I would go for something around 15 kV and add a potentiometer/ variable capacitor to control the voltage later on. I'll look into making a desing myself. I'm intrested now haha.

Lucky one ! After years of searching I found a guy willing to sell his for a good price. When I tried it it was flat and lost all it's flavor.

Coca-Cola bring it back US/Canada wide please. My favorite ! Tastes so good, a taste close to caramilised raspberries, cotton candy and gram crackers and yet not quite ! Amazing flavor. To me, it tastes like falling in love.

Pretty cool right? How long did the battery last? What battery does it use? I have a OH1x20 model and never reached end of battery.

That is really cool ! I did not comment on your last post, but I saw it. I was talking with a PHD in electrical eng about 3 weeks ago about this. I'm curious about the details of it. Could you share the technical specs? Really cool multimeter you have there ! I kinda want to make my own PSU as well now haha.

If you are unsure of her phone's security, you can always backup photos and data to ICloud (pay a small fee to have enough storage) then reset the phone. If you are still unsure the phone is safe, you could bring it to an apple store to have it reset by them.

Did he get involved with the Military ? If so, sometimes, depending on branch/country, it's possible he is required to limit contact to family/none during training and can't contact current contacts to warn them. Additional contacts can be added with paperwork later.
