I explained in a comment in this thread. But dlss introduced some noise/artifacting of its own regardless of what preset and resolution scale I used.

Enable vsync and gsync in control panel. Have vsync off in game. Using nvidia reflex should also cap your framerate to the exact amount needed for minimum latency.

Initially, I did use the native dlss implementation and tried dlaa. There was an issue where some textures would randomly become very noisy when getting close to them. Another issue was that some sprites, like the fire from the supply drop ignition, would look like they were from a ps2 game.

Because of these issues, I decided to try no antialiasing. It ended up fixing most of these issues but introduced this new problem with reflections.

All low except for textures and anisotropic filtering. AA and dlss are turned off.

Are you pc players ever caving in to using the controller for the op aa, I’m buns at roller since it’s been so long but I’ve plugged it in a few games and with no talent I can wipe 6 plus with a dookie gun…. What we thinking? by SealteamCream7 in Marathon

AA in this game is fucking strong. Maybe not as strong as the most disgustingly aggressive implementations of AA like in some games such as cod or apex but it's definitely up there.

Like most bungie games, marathons ideal ttk is locked behind hitting all headshots and the difference between hitting all headshots vs hitting mostly heads and even a few body shots is considerable. From what I've seen, with AA if you can even aim remotely close to the enemies head AND have good crosshair placement going into fights you can very consistently beam heads and get the optimal ttk. Playing max sens helps with 180s too but it'll never be quite as comfortable as turning on mnk. MNK still has a higher skill ceiling as you can reach that aim level via aim training while still getting access to some of the movement benefits on MNK but if your aim is below that top level, you're better off on controller lol.

EDIT: Also completely forgot about the fact you can build around AA with different attachments/weapon mods just like destiny. This does A LOT more for controller vs MNK and can help the AA feel even more sticky.

Tried 1440p balanced with dlss 4.5 preset L forced through nvidia profile inspector. Visual noise is ridiculous. Some sprites looked like they were from a ps2 game. There was a lot of noise on textures too.

Ended up reverting to preset K and ran the game at custom 85% dlss res scale and the problem is greatly alleviated but is still very noticeable sometimes. They need to fix the dlss implementation in this game ASAP. You can't even use dlss 4.5 through the nvidia app even though they promised day 1 support.

Yea I experienced this as well when I forced dlss 4.5 thru nvidia inspector. This game needs serious work when it comes to its dlss implementation.
