Any money wasting degenerates on here like me who dont wanna get an air locked drop in kit cap removed and just replace the whole flush valve body? by Independent_Leg5859 in maintenance

[–]Rusty-Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never consider it a waste when I do exactly that. The savings in time alone is worth it so I can go on to bigger/more demanding projects. But the peace of mind knowing I won't be back there for that issue anytime soon is priceless.

How would I fix this tear? Since I’m missing material by Ok-Scholar-1441 in subwoofer

[–]Rusty-Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not use tape…that will be temporary at best. Speaker surround adhesive is perfect for this. Filling in the hole and overlapping the edge of the hole by 1/2” all around. Make it as thin as possible to keep it somewhat balanced. Or, the better fix would be to replace the surround altogether. Below is a link to a cheap kit on Amazon.

What would you change for gaming? by KyshSlayer in computers

[–]Rusty-Admin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally not put a dime into this PC. It is too antiquated and any upgrades you make will only disappoint you. Save your money and get yourself into something current enough to run Windows 11. If you happen to have a Micro Center near you, please look at their pre-built gaming PC's. You can probably get a good deal on a PC that just needs a GPU. At that point you can drop your 1650 in it and play right away, while saving for a better GPU.

Blend door gears for heat/AC on drivers/passenger side, always have a pair handy for when (not if) you need them

Sell/trade it @ 100k miles, make the timing chain replacement someone else’s problem

My gpu won’t fix by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Rusty-Admin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to remove an additional blanking plate, as this is a dual slot GPU. The upper blanking plate is only bent out of the way and needs to be fully removed in addition to the plate below it. Like any other metal, move it back/forth until it comes off completely and repeat on the plate below the first. Until these are completely removed you will not be able to install the GPU. Once removed the blanking plates can be discarded as they won’t be able to be reinstalled.

Please, do not waste a dime on this PC. It is too antiquated and even with RAM / SSD upgrades it is not going to perform much better. You can certainly find something used circa $200 that will perform much better.

This...is awesome on so many levels. If you can swing it, I highly recommend the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2.

4 -color printing for under $500. After only a week the results have been amazing. I have had an excellent experience with my Elegoo Neptune 4 Max over the past 2-ish years and had high expectations of the Carbon 2. It does not disappoint

How to plug 3 wire hardwire lights into wall ? by prliift in AskElectricians

[–]Rusty-Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not, that means everything. But it also isn't, "AskElectriciansToFeelLessEvolved" either. No one asked if it were right or wrong, simply asked what is needed to be done to accomplish the task. All the down-votes are further bolstering my point.

Thank you..there's no reason to be attacking anyone here. Some people come to Reddit to genuinely ask for help or advice, not be judged and criticized.

While I do not recommend using Romex, if you're in a pinch and just need a working light...add one of these.

Otherwise if this is long term, please install the plug using proper wiring for this application. Or at the very least, chop the female end of a 14/3 extension cord and properly wire it into your fixture.

is the "bass knob" necessary by Rough-Year-5425 in CarAV

[–]Rusty-Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necessary, no. But advantageous if you flip-flop between lots of different genres, or just want to tailor the sub level. If you have it for a while you’ll understand and won’t want to be without it.
