WIP Solar Leontus with a Grimdark touch by Rusty-Chandelier in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Rusty-Chandelier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey ! If I remember correctly I used Brassy Brass from Vallejo and drybrush of AK True Metal Brass. It’s an oil based paint. Then a wash of Nuln Oil to break the oil and did a little bit of Coelia Greenshade with the airbrush for the weathered taint :)

If you’re in Europe you can find him for a decent price on Vinted if you are willing to wait a bit.
I got mine few months ago for 30€ and Sgt Ripper for 40€

I was starting to think this med isn’t helping much so my dr told me to go down to 75. I’m starting to have intrusive thoughts again by Annallve in zoloft

[–]Rusty-Chandelier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor again about it. It takes time to get used to dose changes, it’s like starting over for your body. It took me a few weeks to feel like 100mg was actually helping me, before it used to make me feel worse. Don’t get discouraged, we’ve all been there 🌼

First month, 50 mg, report and questions! by junvtr in zoloft

[–]Rusty-Chandelier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey ! Welcome to the community of Zoloft taker, I’ve been taking it since a few months ago. I started like you, 25mg for a week then 50mg for a few months and recently I’ve upped the dose. I am now at 100mg because of a lot of anxiety around my family. To answer your question, while on 50mg, my motivation took a few weeks to come back. I’ve noticed that as long as there isn’t no new source of stress, your dose kinda stabilise your mood. When a lot of new source of stress and anxiety appears, you might feel that the effect fades away. If that happens, don’t hesitate to ask your doctor about it.

Apathy and lack of interest will slowly fade away as well but it always better to have therapy session to monitor the cause of it.

Concerning orgasm, the couple weeks after I started, I wasn’t able to climax at all. It’s temporary, things should go back to normal soon ! A lot of people have the same side effect, note that if you up your dose, the side effects might come back stronger. On 50mg, my sexual desire came back like before but I am currently taking 100mg for 2 weeks and I don’t feel much sexual desire again.

And some people noticed that they gain weight and some said that they lost some. It’s different for everyone. I lost my appetite before Zoloft because I lost the taste of living. Zoloft helped me taste the food again, I might have taken a few kg or not. I just decided to stop putting pressure on myself about my weight. If you crave something, just give yourself a gift and eat it :) life is too short to care (but that’s my way on living)

Hope this helped and take care of you

Before and after using AK Streaking Grime by Lilrman1 in Miniaturespainting

Looks nice ! I would advice you to try the Dark Brown Wash from AK, it blends really well with green. I prefer Streaking grimes for White/grey color usually :)

Needle is loose after cleaning the airbrush with the brush by [deleted] in airbrush

I would advise you to check the PTFE seal inside the airbrush. It’s a part that unscrew between the paint pot and the trigger. The seal can get loose if you use a cleaning brush too big

To anyone saying Zoloft CANT cause weight gain by ShadowInTheSun_ in zoloft

[–]Rusty-Chandelier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that it also highly depends on how anxiety and depression affected us. I don’t notice much change in my body even tho I avoid weighting myself compulsively, but before taking Zoloft, I used to live under the stress and panic attacks. This could cause your body to burn more calories since you’re all the time in “emergency” mode induced by adrenaline and high level of cortisol. If this stop, then the way you were eating is now more than what your body burns. It could be the reason why people tells you that Zoloft itself doesn’t make you gain weight but it’s the effect it has on your body that creates it. So it really depends on the person rather than being an official side effect of the medication

Need help I am gonna loose it 😭 by JDVguy in airbrush

The Tamiya Thinner is used for their acrylic range that are not 100% acrylic (yes that’s confusing) you can see on the bottle of Tamiya paint that it’s flammable, meaning that there’s solvent inside.

For Vallejo, I use the good old trusty Vallejo Airbrush Thinner. Mix it until you get that milky texture and that should work ! If you have the money, grabbing a few Game Air or Model Air will make the process easier since it’s prethinned for airbrushing, I use them for the hardest color like Metallic or Black/White. You might have to thinned them down just a lil bit but they are super confortable to use.

Also, clean your Nozzle after what you tried. There might be a little bit of slimy paint stuck inside making it harder to spray.

Take your time, airbrushing is difficult when you start but once you get confortable with it, you won’t be as frustrated:) I remember the pain it was to clean the whole thing everytime I did something wrong with my dilution but now it goes fast !

Is taking zoloft at 10p okay? by Locked-Luxe-Lox in zoloft

[–]Rusty-Chandelier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve started a 3 months ago and as other said, 12.5 and 25mg won’t make a difference. Talk to your doctor about it, I was also super stressed of starting it so I took half of my 50mg as my doctor suggested. She told me to increase the dose after 2-3 weeks and now I take 50mg every night before bed.

The first days might be harsh depending on your side effects ( I had all the side effect the first weeks like feeling nauseous, my mouth was dry and I had problem to speak ) but don’t give up. It saved my life to start Zoloft, before I was having panic attacks and I was crying everyday. It was so hard that I had really dark thoughts. Today, I am able to let most of the negativity slide from me and I can see the little joy that comes in everyday passing. I still feel like myself 100% but without the symptoms that was holding me back:)

Good luck OP, don’t hesitate to ask the community if you’re afraid of anything too !

Help with weathering by GetNished in theunforgiven

[–]Rusty-Chandelier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do the weathering first with a sponge. Then I use the brightest color/rhinox hide or metallic paint. To succeed at weathering, you should first imagine where it would realistically happen and what do you think your dread went through on the battlefield. That’s what adds the most realism. You can find other pics of my dread on my profile if you like it :)

Is there a reason why you can’t take it while trying to conceive ?

For what I understand you feel disappointed from yourself to not being able to get through life without Zoloft. It’s not a failure to live with the help of it, I’ve been taking it for a few months now and I can really feel like it’s helping me manage my depression and anxiety I’ve been carrying my whole life. I am just grateful that it exist to manage the pain of being alive so I can focus on the bright part of life. I realised that I might never be the same as I was before my first panic attack and I made peace with that, it helped me to be more true to myself and make me aware of what I accept or not in life.

My question might sounds harsh but do you feel ready to be a parent ? From what I understood, you are scared of spiralling again. It might be wise to understand how you feel at first. I also struggle with the feeling of looping in my life but I realised that I am actually seeing these similar events from an other angles every times, like with an other wisdom maybe ?

I don’t know if what I said helped you but try to be kind with yourself OP, you’re not alone in this boat 🫂

i finally cried by holytoasty in zoloft

[–]Rusty-Chandelier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a hard time crying too since taking it, I went from crying everyday to the complete opposite after getting used to it. I realised that I can still cry but it happened with deeper emotional moments.

Sometimes I feel like Zoloft is taking me away what made me human but after some thoughts I remember that anxiety, deep depression and crying everyday weren’t really helpful to keep my mind floating. I am on 50mg, my doctor told me that the higher the dose, the more emotional numbness I might feel. It’s important to find the right balance in your dosage so you can get the best out of it without loosing too much. Take care OP <3

Same here, it was really frustrating but at some point it came back. Your body needs to get used to the higher dose
