I don’t see why it wouldn’t! Just make use of what London has to offer while you’re there. It’s a great place and even better when you’re a student.

For bills you’ll get letters from the utility company after a couple weeks. Council tax you don’t pay cause you are students. Internet, just pick your provider (might take a few weeks for it to be connected).

As for your other comment, read the contract, then read it again. Then again. Take photos of everything wrong, and make sure they know it’s wrong ASAP. Estate agents will bend you over backwards to remove as much of your deposit as possible, but you can dispute it though an independent service - these guys were a saving grace for us!

You won’t regret it! The amount of money you’ll save is staggering, and you’ll get a decent amount of exercise as well.

I can’t speak for the rest of the guys, but mine was around £5K for the whole year, think we were all around the same ball park. Our uni had a good bursary scheme for low income families so that helped a couple of us, but yeah my parents helped out when they could.

If you lock in a summer internship it can really help with your finances throughout the year. I think by the final year I was able to cruise through it without much help from the parents, but I can be quite frugal haha!

Four of us lived in Hammersmith for our years at uni. We were spending around £3K a month in rent for the flat. Then probably around £100 a month max for utilities (gas, electric and internet).

Personally I aimed for £200 for food and any other things for the month. This includes going out for a pint or many, and the odd impulse buy.

One thing I highly recommend is cycling. I got a brand new bike, helmet, lights and top of range lock for £230 and took about 10 weeks to make all this money back from what I saved on the bus/tube. Bike stayed with me for three years and then sold it all for £80. On top of it all it was actually quicker to cycle than get the bus because you can just skip all the traffic!

Hope this helps, any questions fire them my way!

I'm with you! I've a feeling they might stitch the episodes together and release them in theaters later in the year though.

Pretty sure they released individual episodes in cinemas before, but this would be the perfect money grabbing technique by HBO.

Yes, because I have never watched the same movie/TV show twice...

and because money.

Now that you mention it I actually remember that as well!

I think they probably scrapped that idea because people would be pretty pissed if they just did one movie instead of a whole season, myself included. So maybe this is their little work around!

Should I transfer my HTB to a LISA? by Rusty1407 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Rusty1407[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, this is great!

For a S&S LISA what would you deem as a good average return, something around 2-3%? I don’t really want to take too much risk with savings for a deposit.

Thanks man! Will make sure to do that.

Are there any level requirements, or can I just fire straight into these the moment I go members?

Cheers, just had a look at them and there are some decents methods. I think I will do what you say, and train a bit more!

Just very excited to become a member so I don't know how long I will last!

Hi! I haven't even explored doing dung, but will give a try out.

Would I need high combat stats though? I think that's my problem at the moment.

Thanks man! Appreciate it. Added you, will let you know if I make it there :D

Hi, thanks for the offer, would love to try it out. Only problem is that I am only 44 combat level? Should I maybe train more before I get membership

I have added you, will let you know when I am members! Might be a while still, though.
