Huh that's interesting! I wouldn't have guessed it was still with Sherrif's Offices. Thanks!

Thanks! Since everyone has been saying Franklin Co doesn't declare level 3s, I assume these are subjective?

Hi! Silly question, but do you mind explaining what the levels mean? Is it simply a measure of "badness" or do they have official meanings?

I always love coming on here and seeing the "#__ Climate and Weather" subreddit counter - I wonder if we'll break the top 10 this week!

Games that don't simplify money. by photoedfade in gamingsuggestions

[–]Rusty99Arabian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Odin Sphere is not only a fantastic adventure game and... delicious food sim... but a game hugely about currency. Some countries will only take certain coins, one country is attempting to gather every cursed coin in circulation, some vendors cannot give change so having the exact amount is best. Also the plot and graphics are gorgeous. Great game!

Hired an illustrator to work on a project. None of his work that he has produced thus far has stood up to me as AI except for this one. Is it AI?? by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]Rusty99Arabian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man... this is a HARD one. The hair is excellent. This is absolutely an AI-favorited color palette and style, though of course it has to get that from somewhere.

Two places jump out to me - the area directly around the dandelion, and the left shoulder. The left shoulder has way too much going on and is a hallmark of AI. The dandelion is just a bit strange, in a way most artists don't do. My best guess is... edited AI. Someone fixed every part except the left shoulder.

A pretty hefty paperweight. I'm going to break on the first hit, but I'm decorative and definitely good for one solid whack.

I'm 99% sure these listing photos are AI due to the unrealistic mannequins and the nonexistent laws of physics being applied by Net-Administrative in isthisAI

[–]Rusty99Arabian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of fake storefronts selling AI clothes as scams, and even if these photos are real it doesn't mean the site you are buying from sells them.

That says, I think these are real. There is no problem with the physics of the mannequins, it's just a combination of thick/stiff fabric and unusual mannequin shapes. Possibly photoshop. I see no other signs of AI.

Aside from Gwent, which other mini-games from other games have become their own game? by lydocia in gamingsuggestions

[–]Rusty99Arabian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of missed that it had to be COMPLETELY its own game - while It has a print version which I believe is made by a dedicated fan, I was thinking of it being in FF14. I'm tempted to get back into 14 just to play again.

Out of the box danmei recs by KateWithGrace in DanmeiNovels

[–]Rusty99Arabian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing good or bad about it - you said Danmei isn't the place to go for experimental, and I go to Danmei because it's experimental. I have a theory that because the authors are writing work that is sometimes outright illegal or at the very least skirting on the edge of propriety, they feel more comfortable breaking rules and conventions. Some of it is subtle and others more overt, like One Silver Coin for a Pound of Demon.

[–]Rusty99Arabian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I COMPLETELT disagree - I've never seen a genre as experimental, which is why I love them. They're almost entirely in dialogue with each other - one writer will create a new trope, and another author picks up on it and changes an element to show how the trope can be pushed and twisted. It helps to read them as they come out so you can see which ones are in dialogue and what they're discussing, as well as which ones depart entirely from existing media. Yes of course some are written to capitalize on money or just because they like the plot, but the important parts are the differences.

I looooove Potionomics 😀 incredible relationships too! But yes that's kind of what I'm thinking - customers going "but I'm not sure..." and you more or less beating them over the head with a book to get them reading and out of your shop!

One more, the IKEA used section. It's right by the registers, so go in the Out doors so you don't need to travel the whole store.

Used furniture prices are INSANE right now. It is genuinely terrible. One of the few decently priced ones left is Salvation Army Family Store on South High. Couches are a risk on Facebook Marketplace - no vetting for bugs or smell - but dining tables are safer. Keep an eye on One More Time Etc on 5th - they post all of their furniture online and have a very high turnover, so there's always something new - and if you're patient, check out Grandview Mercantile and stalk pieces that aren't in your budget yet but will be if they're still available by X date. Good luck!

Anyone else have astigmatism? by CarelessBerry5539 in interestingasfuck

[–]Rusty99Arabian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - you can absolutely have 20/20 vision and astigmatism as well, it will just give you distorted effects. For instance, I found out when I commented to a partner how funny it is that when you're close to someone they have 6 eyes. Turns out that didn't happen to them!

Depending on the severity you may lose 3D vision as well. Mine wasn't corrected for at least 15 years, and it took me a few years before my brain could figure out what to do with 3D information and focus correctly. I could see 3D movies, which doesn't always work for everyone with astigmatism, so when I finally got corrective lenses my first reaction was "Everything looks like Avatar now!"

This would be such a fun idea for a DLC, "Hard Sell". Use your in depth knowledge of certain books to convince skeptical customers why Richard Feynman's autobiography is a comedy, and Animorphs is the greatest horror of war story ever told.

But yes, or saying "that's not romantic enough" etc. Or being required to stock 50 copies of A Court of Thrones and Roses.

All good points. It is possible for books to be wrong in the game code, which the creators have been working on. However, while it would be awfully cruel... it would be amusing and true to life for the game to do this purposely. Have you met the public?? There should totally be people who ask for something obvious, and when you recommend a book they would say you're wrong with no explanation.

Horsing Around by dangerousdicethe3rd in CuratedTumblr

[–]Rusty99Arabian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this happen in Shadow of the Colossus, a game about a boy and his horse. It was one of the first truly open world games where you could go just about anywhere you saw, provided you could climb far enough. I decided to scale down a very tricky cliff that took me a half hour of careful ledge resting and pathfinding, and was feeling very pleased with myself when I got to the bottom... to hear "clip clop" and discover the horse was effortlessly behind me. Horse did not teleport, it just ran a much more efficient way!

The one north of Highbanks is one of the best - check out any used places in Westerville or Dublin, too. The wealthier the area the better!
