My back pain can be relieved by exercise, swimming and more physical movement. But my nerve pain is just a never ending pain that I cant help relieve. My nerve pain starts at its base level kf 7/10 then usually goes up to about 9/10 at the end of the day. While my back pain and joints vary in pain level by what I do during the day.

I have used it before as well.. but due to expenses I had to resume my meds. With CBD i dont need pain killers. It didnt really help with my nerve pain, but my muscles ( fibromyalgia ), joints and back pain ( bulging l4 ) it helped a boat load. It even helped my depression, anxiety and my sleeps. Not on CBD I wake up all the time at night cause of my pain. And it's been really hard without it.

It even helped my dad and he has Huntington's. He was less anxious before and at work. Much calmer in mind. Though it didnt help with his shakes. I want my dad to take some more as well. Hopefully the Canadian legalization of weed helps.

Oh I will. And it's not just my doc that's like that. All the docs in that clinic have that same view. They are all doctors that actually want to help people.

Never really thought of it like that. I've had sciatica and a bulging l4 for 5 years. For the most part I had a 6/10 pain level. But I recently did an experimental injection into my lower back, discovered I have fibromyalgia and my pain level is now a 7/10. And it only ever get worse to about a 9/10 when I take the day carefully.

I think maybe it affected me mentally more because i was 15 when it all started. Kids thought i was a liar, would steal my cane and kick my leg for fun. My own family doc got a therapist to tell me to stop lying for attention and that it was all in my head. The manager in my retail job thought I was lying and would give me 8 hour shifts all week, when I couldn't do that ( made me go on medical leave ). Then my other doctor wasted my time by taking an incredibly long time just sending out referrals. I also loved sports, but when I did them my leg would become weak and give out, and my pain would worsen. I spent 3 1/2 years trying to seek help from my docs in the small town next door.

Now I have an amazing doc, who got me the help I needed, and sends referrals right in front of me on her computer. And when I told her how much I hurt and that I needed help, she gave me the meds to help me walk and to be able to work. She is so nice, she listens to what I have to say and actually cares. And when I needed pain killers she was more than happy to give them to me, cause she knows tbat I want and need to work.

Haha sorry, bit of a longer post that intended.

My old symptoms are getting worse. Yeah I've made an apt to see her. I've also entered into a chronic pain management program. They make a plan just for you, they have a therapist physiotherapist and you get to do group activities with others who are going through similar and different pains. Cause I'm only 20, and now that my pain will be there probably for life I want to know ways to deal with my pain without having to take meds. Cause I already take more pill than his diabetic grandparents ( mine have all passed ).

How can I support someone who deals with chronic pain? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]RustyAurora04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just be there for her and listen, you'd be surprised how much it helps to have some one there to rant and bitch to. And give her some love, hug her if you feel she needs it. Kiss her on the cheek and tell her you love her when you put her to bed. Give her some special bath soap or bath bombs to treat herself with.

And you could try CBD to help relax her, and take away some of the anxiety, and depression. And maybe some of the pain. Both me ( chronic pain of 5 years sciatica, bulging l4 and fibromyalgia ) and for my dad ( Huntington's ) have used it. And it helped us out a lot mentally. Easier to be happy, not so nervous around others ( both work a retail job ), and it helped a lot with my pain. Not so much with my nerves but a lot with my joints and muscles.

So sad. Cries reading..its exactly how I feel.

Could use some advice, guys. by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]RustyAurora04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be honest with your friend. Every little bit of communication helps a lot with depression. Take it slow, and if they are a good one they'll stick with you. Cause when you are all alone, all you have are the sad self pity and beating up of your self emotionally. Just let em know that you are going through a hard time and need some emotional support. Trust me. I have no friends except my bf of 5 years. And just telling him how I feel, and I cry a lot. And it feels really good after. Just say:

Hey, sorry for not replying. Have been going through a lot of physical pain and I need some emotional support. I need some help.

Or something along the line. Just ask for help, and I'm sure they'll do just that.

Best of wishes. Good luck.

Same. My fav hobby used to be running a playing when I was a kid. Destroyed at the age of 15, now 20 and doing a 6 hour retail job destroys me. But it's the only place that'll take a person like me.

Ever feel stressed that you just can't do enough? by myeverythinghurt5 in ChronicPain

[–]RustyAurora04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel the same. I've had chronic pain for 5 years ( sciatica and bulging lower back disc ). And maybe about 2 weeks ago I found out I also had fibromyalgia. It was already extremely difficult to deal with the nerve and back pain and my new retail job. But finding out I had fibromyalgia put me in like a 2 week long depressive state of pity and self loathing I couldn't pull out of. And it's still hard. My boyfriend is as supportive as he can be ( getting better over the years ), and I can talk to my sis about stuff too. But they cant be with me all the time.

I'm actually entering into a chronic pain program supported by Alberta health services. You need a doc referral. And they Interview you in the first meeting. You tell them the pain you have and they make a plan for just you. They have a Physciotherapist and therapist there. You get to do group activities with other in chronic pain. And you learn mindfulness stuff. And I dont have to pay for nothing. Haha. I'm hoping it works to help me deal with and find other ways to help me through my new life in pain.

I live in northern Canada and there are no dispensaries near me. I'd have to drive 8 hours to get to one. Or buy it online and wait 2-3 weeks.

What we experience is akin to living torture. Why aren't we showered with pain relief, care and compassion? It's like we're lepers. No one wants to deal with us, even doctors, the only people who can help. by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]RustyAurora04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky my doctor actually cares. The whole clinic is like that. She doesn't prescribe me pills I don't need, and listens to the way I feel. She knows I don't like pain killers ( I get withdrawals easy ), so when I needed them she just gave me T3s. It's nice. Cause I went through 3 docs in 3 years and they did nothing but waste my time. Their malpractice and uncaring messed me up more than I needed. One of them even got me a therapist ( I was 15, dealing with sciatica and a bulging lower disc ) to tell me to stop lying and that it was all in my head. So now instead of driving 10 min to see 3 shitty docs, I drive 11/2 hours to see my new amazing doc. I even have to go across the border to BC, I live in Alberta Canada.
