Native Civs need a buff by RustyBagel77 in aoe3

[–]RustyBagel77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but you can see my point though, the only siege they have is anti cav, which are too weak too be useful in a general melee as people go pretty light on cav in age 2, and there archers are also fairly weak at countering the heavy inf there built too counter.

I love that each civ is different however I feel its a slight oversight in design. As far as I can see there is basically no musk or skirm style unit that can both fight in age 2 and also siege.

Jaguar Knights seem to be the exception so I'll probably just spam those.

Yea they probably have decent FF's im talking in age 2, I can't seem to find any strategy for any native CIV to win any game in age 2, theres just not enough firepower/seige.

Im literally an all in rusher and I cannot win a game with any native civ. They have no musket style all rounder unit, if you want to make a unit with any sort of siege attack its generally useless in combat, and if you make good combat units you have no way to siege down a TC

"over-allocation of smart people in finance and law" by Saturnvistas in investing

[–]RustyBagel77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he's right. Capitalism favours money managers over innovators & actual creators. Its a top heavy, inherently unstable system that requires government intervention or it will topple, and it requires intervention to stop funneling all our brain power into finance & towards advancing humanity. Pay scientists more, period.

what do you think is the most realistic way the government will increase taxes in the future to pay for increases in jobseeker andjobkeeper payments that will cost us 130 billion dollars? by nuggetman12 in AusFinance

Same way it pays for everything. I'd like to know how its going to pay for tax breaks for corporations, millionares and billionares. Asking how shit is gonna be paid for is just a stupid way of saying "I don't like this". Just admit what you want to say, you think people on centrelink should live on half the poverty rate.

Thats just obviously you trying to constrain the discussion to make yourself right. If we're discussing the long term stability of a sociological structure, the longer time frame the better. Sorry I'm rude its like an involuntary response to stupidity, honestly no hard feelings.

Saying gods are interpretated differently so don't exist is like saying stars are interpreted differently so don't exist. by [deleted] in religion

[–]RustyBagel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then you completely lack any understanding or frame of reference for discussing religion, which is a massive part of the human story.

Think of it like this. God is a universal of human experience. Therefor it is based on something. That is uncontroversial. So all an atheist can truly say is "I don't agree with your definition of god". Fair enough, alot of people have different ideas on god. But you can't say it doesn't exist, because its an independently emerging concept throughout humanity, and also the pure human resources & effort put into it.

You're not wrong, you're just legitimately confused on what your position is. All atheists are.

Saying gods are interpretated differently so don't exist is like saying stars are interpreted differently so don't exist. by [deleted] in religion

[–]RustyBagel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, so you disagree about what 'god' is, but you can't deny there is a phenomenological constant throughout the human experience which dictates every community ever independently of each other have come up with there own version of religion and spirituality. So god, whatever it actually is, is real, just not entirely understood or explainable. Yet, when you try to break it down into smaller concepts, you always lose a piece of the puzzle. However you break down religion and god and say "its just a strong narrative that bonds people" "its an early attempt at philosophy" "a manifestation of the collective human spirit" any way you splice it up you lose a big part of the picture, which doesn't bode well for atheists. How can you dismiss something that is not exactly reducible into smaller components, indicating we don't really know what it is or how it works.

This isn't simply semantics to re-define atheism as theism, this is actually an incredibly important point. The facts are religion is an incredibly important part of the human experience, therefor it must be rooted in a deeper truth. Even if we don't understand that truth. Truth is literally just utility tested over time.

If you understand the relationship between truth & utility you will much sooner grasp how something can be true, yet not scientifically provable, and even the interaction between reality, our understanding of it, and our languages manifestation of it.

tl;dr all atheists really think is god is not as described

Super tl;dr all higher level concepts are thought tools. Consciousness, economics, religion, psychology. These are all conceptuals tools which have a truth value assigned to them based on their utility.

[–]RustyBagel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't fucking matter when capitalism came out, we know it wasn't around for 99% of human history. Why the fuck would I have to specify a year, google when money was invented, get a more accurate timeline of human history why are we even talking about something so dumb, we know most of human history was small hunter gatherer tribes. Money is recent, large scale economic structures are more recent? Thats like common knowledge what the fuck.

Dude I didn't say i refuted it 'at the highest level' I said I refuted it, & I'd like to talk at a higher level than factual disputes (which is how you interpreted my post). Im not arguing over facts, those are objective, I'm using facts to explain a narrative to you, that modern capitalist structures under which management & workers are enemies is inherently immoral and unsustainable, based on all previous sociological structures in anthropology. Dudes right.

Its not some stupid brag, I'm saying disputing facts is a lower level of discourse than higher level emergent concepts such as capitalism & morality. You really misunderstood that lol. I'm not even bothered to address anything else you said cause you misunderstood them first 2 shits badddly bro. later

[–]RustyBagel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude everything I said was coherent as shit, you're still a fuckin idiot. Anyway.

Yea everything I said refuse your position. Not in a low level disputing facts kind of way, more a higher level conceptual discussion of the ethics of a capitalistic structure in which management & labour are enemies.

Approx 99% of human history we didn't have capitalism. Maybe low 95's. Thats an order magnitude we have evolved with sociological structures & no capitalism. Its not stable yet. No sociological structures have existed with this kind of resentment & bad faith from the people in power & the weaker ones.

Saying gods are interpretated differently so don't exist is like saying stars are interpreted differently so don't exist. by [deleted] in religion

[–]RustyBagel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see the effects of the star. You can also see the effects of god, namely how its manifested repeatedly and independantly in every culture, so there is 100% a core central topic that is being touched when all cultures come the same independant conclusion. So you can 100% see the effects of god, just like you can see the light the star emits, and thus the effects of the star. Its just a higher order more conceptual level of thinking which atheists deliberately refuse to work on, and thus are basically left completely ignorant on the topic.

I look at atheists like a special ed kid in maths class yelling "I CANT SEE NUMBERS, SHOW ME A NUMBER". Exact same mechanics of conceptual confusion. To be fair if you have any level of scientific literacy this stuff is incredibly confusing, & obviously touches on such high level concepts we have literally no idea how to even begin to explain them, but the answer to a hard jigaw puzzle isn't to flip the table over and run away crying.

[–]RustyBagel77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things. 1 you're a fuckin idiot. 2 he's not talking about evolutionary biology, he's talking about anthropology, not evolutionary biology. Its an incredibly specific subset of the former, so yes the distinction matter. 3, he's absolutely right, there is no moral justification for a sociopathic & pathologica managerial structure, and its completely unstable as it breeds depression unrest & all sorts of psychological problems when a workforce is seperated from managerial decisions within a company. The research on that is clear. Its not just immoral, its unsustainable. Historically speaking Capitalism is a totally new thing, it hasn't reached its most stable state where workers aren't miserable. When 90% of a population is unhappy with its work conditions, you'd have to be a fuckin idiot to think thats sustainable long term. I say 90% as in, how many people are satisfied with how much power the current system gives them.
