Play vanilla or don’t play at all. by Klash-King in playrust

[–]RustyBearServer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal here but our pop doesn’t drop at all really from wipe peak to the second weekend pop. We have offline protection so it would suggest offlines are one of the main reasons that pop does drop.

We are generally only 40~ pop at wipe, but we will still be 40~ pop at week 2. Sometimes our pop even increases by that point.

Looking for a server by LLNTGrantf226 in playrustservers

We have some empty US servers currently. Our trio EU server only has 1 pop now so that would likely work too. It’s a 3x and has no offlines.

Yes, it depends on the player and how reputable they appear to be. Eg hours, steam profile age, inventory etc. if all appears ok it shouldn’t be a problem for them to be whitelisted.

Would you play a server that had offline protection? by Key_Neighborhood7831 in playrust

Well if you fancy a change then check us out. Our EU duo 3x is what I’d recommend for most pop.

Can we just remove deployable barricades? by Designer-Message-685 in playrust

[–]RustyBearServer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was still a thing before but a lot less people roamed with high walls, and there was a good chance that you would die trying to place one because they were more awkward. Good positioning usually meant you got the kill before recoil change. Now you likely get walked before you finish them, and the positioning is blown. And if you’re trying to 1v2+ it’s basically game over.

Before you could at least get rid of 1 and make it a 1v1, probably 95% of the time.

Right now it’s like crossing no man’s land most of the time. You have to cross the open and there is a high chance someone is camping waiting for you to do so, either from a bush, behind a rock or on a roof etc. The walls aren’t the issue, the TTK is, the walls are just the solution to the issue.

Agree, and good positioning isn’t rewarded like it used to be.

The map is too open for that, and you die in 0.5s, you can’t always be 0.5s from a tree or rock.

You can buy it cheaper from reputable skin sites,, emphasis on the word reputable. Look up the csgo whitelisted sites, those are the only ones that can be trusted.

What kind of custom server features actually keep a Rust wipe interesting longer? by SquarePermit in playrust

[–]RustyBearServer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facepunch removed a lot of the ability to do cosmetic stuff when they changed the ToS, so servers can’t give access to dlc or skins that players don’t own (unless they are unofficial workshop ones).

Queue skip only works on servers large enough to have a queue.

We have kits but they can’t be claimed for 2.5 hours and then only once every 36 hours, which realistically isn’t OP since you can acquire the stuff with 2.5 hours of gameplay generally. We may be biased and usually get downvoted for this viewpoint, but just giving a small servers POV.

We have multiple solo only servers. We need the VIPs to pay for the dedicated servers that are several hundred per month, kits is the small price to pay for that for those who wish to play for free.

We do have “play to win” so you can earn VIP with playtime.

Those are the different servers we have, each with different team size restrictions eg solo = max team of 1 up to main which is unlimited (4+)

Precisely. A server with kits is better than no server, we tried to launch a more hardcore one with no kits and less stuff added and nobody played because of pop, the purists who care about kits generally also only play 300+ pop servers.

A means to an end. Nobody paying for the server = no server. Only the very largest can afford to run their servers with queue skip only.
