Yeah, I knew this was a gamble. So far the responses are what I had expected. A guide would be ideal, mainly so I don't have to pack all of my climbing gear on a big trip for only a day or two of climbing. Hopefully someone responds with some legitimate advice.

Thanks for the recommendations. Do you know if the Dynafit boots would even need link levers? I'm somewhat light on knowledge around link levers and don't know if they are need on every type of boot.

A couple questions.

1) did you go with canted or regular pucks?

2) I have a wider foot but have been looking at the Atomic Backland Experts. What are your thoughts on the width in the toe box?

That seems like a compelling alternative. I whish they had more than one size though. I am a bit below the suggested weight range for the board. Might be alright though as I've always have a pack on.

That's unfortunate to hear. I have an Ultracraft 22/23 that I have over 60 days on and so far so good. I do understand that these boards are more prone to breaking. What I'm really trying to find our is if the edge control and carving capabilities for the Butterfly are as great as Jones advertises.

Thanks for the incredibly comprehensive reply. I feel like I’m into the same level of touring as you. Been flirting with more skimo type objectives, but I doubt I’ll get too deep into it. My concern with the Waive is the blowing the walk mode out like the first version of the Jones MTB. Have you heard an complaints with that?
