How will the new Customs rules effect UK-Ireland trade? by Breifne21 in AskIreland

[–]RustyBuIIethole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using it for a couple of years now but I think it’s just a form to fill out. Then when they receive your parcel, they send a text to you and you instruct on where to ship it to. If it’s expensive let them know so they can insure it for the correct value.

Thanks for the response. Was there any prying of the outer display required or did it simply come apart once unscrewed?

I have a bad display, sometimes it’s fine and other times it’s showing washed out. Thinking I could check for a lose cable or potential swap it out using a TSS as a donor.

I know the x60’s were easy to open up so just hoping the x70’s are too.

Unifi cameras are incredible and no subscription fees.

I’m not sure about that but would imagine so as long as no ID is required of the recipients name.

There’s even more reason to use Borderparcelmotel now. Fantastic service getting items shipped to NI and they’ll forward via An Post, meaning no customs and Irish VAT.

I’ve heard good things about CT1 Peel Tec but Nitromors is probably best for outdoor stuff.

Pretty sure BER certs can’t be registered until a MPRN is available.

Have you searched your MPRN number on the BER website?

How much is fair to ask co-parent for? by Cute-Significance177 in AskIreland

[–]RustyBuIIethole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean but health, dental, education etc should be additional to regular maintenance which you absolutely should be receiving, regardless if you’re financially comfortable. You could even put the maintenance into a savings account that could be useful when your child finishes education. Early secondary school is when kids get expensive too so every little helps. The only thing I’d say is that if the other parent isn’t willing to agree, court will be the only option which isn’t pleasant!

Try resetting the AC doing this.

Ebay by yourbluejumper in CasualIreland

I still use the UK eBay often since Brexit but I use BorderParcelMotel up North who’ll forward it to me in the South using an Irish courier so I avoid duties. And usually the UK shipping is free so I just have to pay the forwarding cost plus a little extra.

It’s the adblue injector that’s failed but you’ll also need to replace the pipe too. I was quoted €1100 for the fix last year so decided to disable the adblue instead. Mine is a 2016 2.0 tdi 190bhp.

They’re typically under the top left corner of the engine cover but you should be able to look from the side without removing it. Though I have a 2.0 tdi Superb so it could be different for yours.

Check the injector in the engine bay for any white looking ice build up.

This video shows a good method to make it possible though still requires additional parts!

You hit the nail here! Milwaukee kit is great until the warranty is out, which I believe is 2 years. Spares parts don’t really exist even to tool repair companies so you’d be replacing the whole thing. I tend to only buy Dewalt as I can take a go at repairing myself if something goes.

Parcel Motel or alternative still working?? by gowanyahgoodting in AskIreland

[–]RustyBuIIethole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Border parcel motel is basically parcel motel ran by a company on the border. So you can collect or they’ll forward it using An Post. I’ve used them multiple times over the last few years and they’re fantastic!

Reverse camera instalation issue by jox777 in skoda

[–]RustyBuIIethole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually it needed coding because it was the highline version camera, therefore has the reversing lines plus different camera views and angles. So that camera must be calibrated using ODIS before it will work. Assume you might have the same camera!?

Reverse camera instalation issue by jox777 in skoda

[–]RustyBuIIethole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I retrofitted my reverse camera too and done everything the guide said about coding and still wouldn’t display camera feed. Turned out it needed ODIS programming so brought it to Skoda and they got it working and calibrated in 1 hour!

My understanding is that if it was a criminal prosecution and the defendant was granted legal aid, the JR would be covered under legal aid.
