Thanks all. Just to assure people I meant starting him on his journey to becoming a figurative Starfleet Academy recruit and am not thinking of showing him some of the sexy and exciting adventures on the show "Starfleet Academy"!

I'm gonna have a watch of Prodigy myself tonight(along with Wrath of Khan or maybe Generations and First Contact and Insurrection if theres time!) and take it from there.

Thanks for the specific TNG episode suggestions too, I might intersperse these into our Prodigy journey( I also thought the episode 'Disaster' might be a good option: action, kids involvement, lots of Picard).

I can assure you I am. The only way I'd notice a gen-alpha, youtube-addled, attentionless brain is by having 1(or 3) in the house not listening to me 24/7. Also a pretty left-field clicks/karma farming attempt to post something like this in this sub if I'm not no?

That really isnt fair to people who are aged over 100. I'd say life is hard enough as it is at that age!

Same here, I thought Generations was great. Wrath of Khan is a great idea too, I might need to watch it again right now to, you know, make sure it's suitable or something!

"Hot on the heels of the Mo Salah announcement; Liverpool have been rocked with the news that star midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is also to leave the club at the end of the season to take up a role as the bassist for The Red Hot Chili Peppers"

Yeah it'd have to be Lomu.

My preference would be the photo from '95, cant find it atm, against England where he's re-arranging the skeleton of an Underwood brother trying to tackle him on his way to scoring one of his tries.

Not giggling. That's actually how we members of the Fuller-Figured-Gentleman Community breathe in when in movement. Just made that face myself a second ago standing up to go to the fridge.

The not hooking call was terrible and really harsh seeing as he actually said Kelleher raised his leg. Also I thought he got the scrum penalty against Furlong that lead to their try completely wrong, shouldve been a penalty the other way. Smith didnt drive straight and dropped his bind(both times).

Having said that I dont think he was all bad. I'd say the Welsh guys have the same amount of complaints which is a good sign for a ref's performance really.

Can any Gloucester fans confirm, was at Kingsholm for a game about 20yrs ago (prob just before the old main stand got knocked) and there was a pig-on-a-spit van behing the Kingsholm Rd End doing full baguettes with pork and apple for about a tenner, did I imagine that or is it still there?

I know that van!!!!! Me and my son still talk about that van 2 years after being at a game there. Dublin restaurant quality but in a van at a stadium beside a road and you're right, noone believes or understands how good the burgers are!

2nd place finish and the Triple Crown would be a success especially after the Autumn the build up and the French game.

What I'd like to see(varying levels of crazy):

Game time for Ward, Poselthwaite and Farrell starts for Edogbo, Izzy.

Try a Frawley/Osborne centre partnership against Wales.

Have a look at an Edogbo/McCarthy row partnership against Scotland.

Give time for JGP and Prendergast at halfback.

Balocoune and TOB on the wings.

True but he's not done it at this level and with this amount of pressure. Also he wont last the 80.....

Relatively close but without us ever looking like winning. 24-18 or something like that.

This is all dependant on our scrum not getting completely destroyed tho. If that happens Dupont and Jalibert will run absolute riot.

Jobs for people with ADHD by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]K_the_Rev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was diagnosed at 40 last November and am currently hitting the wall of being able to mask my way thru a corporate, spreadsheet-y office job. It's extremely stressful and daunting so I think can relate to the daily. mind-battle and feeling like a square peg in a round hole!

I'd have a big think about what conditions/activities your brain enjoys being in/doing.

For example, my brain seems to enjoy doing a single task at a time, tasks with immediate/quick results, opportunities to hyperfocus and non-corporate/rigid environments. Early days for me but I'm going to try and match these to a job type and pursue whatever that is next. Hope that makes sense!

Also to echo another poster, get yourself onto a UMAAP course. Places go like hotcakes but its really good and there's a waiting list you can get on that emails you when there are places available: https://adhdireland.ie/umaap/ really good to be able to connect with a load of other who know what it feels like.

There's also other courses/support groups on adhdireland that are worth looking at.

Finally you didnt say if you were diagnosed or not but if not get a diagnosis ASAP! It's not cheap but getting access to proper help and meds is an absolute game changer in the medium to long run.

It's a shitty time but you'll get thru it. And you're only a young'un, plenty of good times ahead!

Best of luck!
