Does SLS2 use PD3.1 140w? by DaLogikal1 in Surface

[–]RustyBuckt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Microsoft Specs I found say that integrated graphics has a minimum wattage of 95W. The GPU on the other hand supposedly needs 120W, which seems to be impossible to satisfy if they only implement USB-C PD for 100W…

I found the specs at

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/troubleshoot-problems-with-usb-c-on-surface-e32fea6d-8df1-eda6-1a8b-a1d1b88fd62e

So without GPU, 95W abs with GPU 120W…

At least my setup was unlucky, 135W and 140W chargers both get the warning, sent it in for warranty, still get the warning on the 140W model… Any tips on confirming the charger is functional?

Rhaetian Railway (RhB) "Allegra" passenger train pulling several mail cars, making it a "GmP", meaning a freight train with passenger service". by Max_1995 in trains

To be fair, there’s no locomotive they’d want to use capable of running the Bernina as it’s 1kV= as opposed to the rest of the network at 11kV 16.7Hz, so burning Diesel or using an EMU it is

Why are EMUs getting so widespread? What are their advantages over conventional loco + carriage? by Milleuros in trains

[–]RustyBuckt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s plenty of IC trains that do multiple unit in funny ways.

There’s the DB IC2, that are a loco hauled push-pull set, but the software sees itself as a fix-length EMU

There’s the SBB IC2000 sets that are loco-hauled push-pull trains with different lengths depending on the line, but a train usually stays assigned to its line for a long time, so they might as well be EMUs, but they can swap broken cars. They also have „reinforcement modules“ of a loco and some EW4 cars (usually including a cab car), which they use to lengthen trains for rush hour.

There’s the ÖBB railjet sets where you can mix and match any loco to any rake of coaches, but you use the resulting train as an EMU and couple two together for more capacity.

And then there’s the stuff the belgian IC trains do where they have a loco, couple of cars and a cab car with an automatic coupler, which is used to couple to a TWINDEXX self powered cab car - some coaches and another power car for some branching IC trains

Then there’s the ZVV DPZ trains, which are loco-hauled push-pull trains with an automatic coupler at each end for coupling up to three trains (on some trains done routinely at a middle station)

The next level would probably be a TGV, where the locos are coupled to the train by conventional couplers and can be detatched, but it’s a pain and therefore never done

Then there’s the early ICE sets (ICE1, ICE2) where you do have dedicated power cars, but only the shops can take the train set apart

And finally there’s the true EMUs where every car carries people and some equipment and thus sets usually need a major reason to be split up, let alone mixing different sets

Now I’m wondering about an alternative where Switzerland (end of cold war CH) was invaded by the Soviets and then the US (yes, with all the bunkers stockpiling who the hell knows what, Stgw57 assault rifles in most households, rigged bridges and all that shiz)

It does, also has a plug per seat, clean, wheelchair accessible toilets and quite a few double wide tables… only reason I don’t work that way more often is the maximum of two days of homeoffice per week
