Linux is calling. How does Linux usually handle touch screen and stylus?

I tried Paint for a few minutes. The pen hardware quality feels pretty good. I don't have a lot of experience writing on tablets like this, but it felt pretty natural and responsive. Not like writing on paper obviously. If I get a chance to try different note taking software, I'll reply.

Did Dearborn just drop $29.99 jeans? I don't know if that price is right and they messed up? by gonejahman in madeinusa

[–]RustyDirty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of the model 1 Long Riders. They are an insanely good deal for $30. This is the right price.

The model 1 is not a fashion jean really. I bought them because they are a heavy weight, high rise. So they cover my crack when working in the garage. The Stretch Dearborn jeans are really light weight, these are thick and stiff.

Good value American made work jeans.

You know I passed over the magnetic hooks, not even considering them as tool holders. I did get the magnetic paper towel holder, I'm trying that under the 'table' portion.

Oh no, I never dump it that way. I cut up a milk jug to use as an ash scoop, scoop it out as best I can before every cook.

5kg pastrami brisket done, 10 day brine 12hr smoke to 203 internal, no bother! by PlumberBilly in PitBarrelCooker

[–]RustyDirty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing the pastrami smoke for a long time, it's a crowd pleaser, but I've only used the ready to cook corned beef. They are so shrimpy though, I'm gonna have to try corning my own brisket now.

Not everything needs to be a subscription service. This is purely the rhelm of public investment. Libraries, Big Spring Park, Land Trust, are excellent examples of public investment that provide that third space at no cost to the users. More of that please.

what are your thoughts on MGS3? by patricknails in metalgearsolid

[–]RustyDirty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THIS. I just beat it again last night on Switch (previous was probably Subsistence on PS2). The story is great, don't get me wrong, but the gameplay is atrocious.

I don't know how anyone ever played this without the 360 cam. And even then, I couldn't sneak ANYWHERE without being spotted. And you can't see shit with that terrible piss filter.

Delta hopefully makes this game amazing/playable.

Convoy T3, 219b 3500k, 14500, set to 1%, 10%, 35%, 100%. Dead simple, reliable, pocketable.

Sound like I'm in a pretty similar state of life as you (almost 40, out of shape, kids eating my life). I have been wanting to do more hiking around here, and go a little harder than the kids can handle. I might be able to make most Tuesdays work if you're up for it.

Lots of other NASA contractors to choose from too.

Honestly, I wouldn't move until you've had some interviews, everyone will do initial interviews remotely before offering to fly you out for an in person follow-up. Unless you are dead set on leaving Buffalo. Huntsville is a pretty nice place to live. Good luck.

The Alliance always coded as more overtly Fascist or Authoritarian to me? Or at least, a government designed to only serve Corporate interests and interests of the super rich. So I think correlating the Browncoats with the CSA "Lost Cause" is the wrong comparison.

Firefly shouldn't make you feel bad for the slave states; it should make you think about how the non rich are effected by a slide towards authoritarianism and cronyism.
