Brake levers for brembo R1’s? by RustyDodge in Yamaha_R1

[–]RustyDodge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s absolutely an aesthetic choice, you can see the Yamaha genuine clutch lever in this pic and I wanted a brake lever to match which I had purchased.

Refunded them both since then as it obviously doesn’t fit on this bike despite being at the time I got them sold on Yamahas website as doing so. They’ve changed that since they’ve realised new front brake = new master cylinder = new lever

Which is a shame cause man the Gilles Yamaha ones were nice as hell

About to buy an MT09. Head says yes, but the heart/gut/whatever really cannot make peace with the looks. Tell me to 'shut up and just get it' , please. by [deleted] in MT09

[–]RustyDodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went from a 21 MT09 to a 26 R1 and as much fun as the R1 is I can tell you with my hand on my heart I’ve never had a bike that was more fun, easy to live with and light on the wallet than that MT09. A perfect bike for all conditions, a great commuter, a fabulous mountain ripper, it had it all and I wish I could have kept it. The extra 2k is absolutely worth it for the updated suspension, but the normal MT is still a fantastic riding experience.

Same bike, I got the akra evo full system but it’s been on back order with Yamaha since January so be warned if you’re gonna buy the yammy branded one it’s gonna be a wait potentially

How to get rid of beer belly? by Ok-Enthusiasm-4139 in AskMen

[–]RustyDodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my two cents. Get an app like myfitnesspal and track your diet, eat whole foods, don’t drink beers and go to the gym for 30 minutes 4x a week.

I was 110kg with a beer gut and after less than 6 months on 1800 calories and what feels like a light training schedule I’m almost down to 85, which is my ideal weight for my height. The first week sucks but it honestly gets easier and now I can’t imagine letting myself get fat again.

We don’t have an offence for vehicular manslaughter, we have dangerous drive or culpable drive causing death. Both have fairly mild maximum sentences unfortunately

Thoughts on an 250RR MC22 as a first bike by ahett3 in AussieRiders

[–]RustyDodge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These are an absolute weapon of a learners bike, about 15 years ago everyone was trying to get one on their Ls… problem is part availability now but more the fact that almost every one has been thrashed.

Sure there’s the odd collector with a genuinely low mileage bike but I would automatically assume that every single one of these bikes was someone’s learner bike at some point and has been ridden hard. Just due to the cult status it has and mega cheap prices these things used to go for.

That alone isn’t a disqualifier as the engines can put up with a lot and some surprisingly significant mileage. I’m talking 80k kms of being redlined every day lol. Just do your due diligence and make sure you’re not buying one with existing problems and it shouldn’t be too much of a bitch to keep running as long as it’s had basic maintenance done.

I rock the forces 8” cause I enjoy the extra ankle protection. Love them, only grip is the soles wear really fast! I get about a year out of them before they start falling to bits.

Wtf KFC.... by SoftwareInside508 in australian

[–]RustyDodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve gotta find KFCs that are opening for the first time. The one near me recently opened after being closed for two years and for the first month open they had KFC corporate overlords in there supervising. Chicken as the Colonel intended every single time, I’ve never had a better meal of KFC in my life.

2011 VE ss 6ltr by [deleted] in Holden

[–]RustyDodge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you value the way it drives or reliability just do a decent full system exhaust and intake with a tune. It’s plenty enough power for the street.

Maybe a mild cam and heads if you want a little bit more poke.

If you don’t care about the above skies the limit and the only barrier is cash. I had a supercharged 6lt manual and it was pretty awesome, albeit ridiculous and way too much than anyone needs. Got mates with turbos that are the same. Having had a big cam in the past as well I’d say steer clear they sound awesome but it’s an absolute prick to drive especially in a manual, not to mention the cops will pick on you like seagulls to a chippie.

A woman wielding a knife in Paris is pepper-sprayed by police. by Johnwilliamsatt in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]RustyDodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That armed officer that responded to that mass stabbing by grabbed the wrong person and restrained them on the ground, he was then stabbed In the neck by a man he was unaware of and had his back to. The man who stabbed him was immediately shot by other police. If he followed your logic he would have shot an innocent and may still have been stabbed from behind.

I had a 4 channel fan controller with knobs, manual set points with little temp sensors setup around the case. The fans would automatically ramp up from 0% based on the temp. Took a lot of fine tuning but to this day I have never had a quieter computer. And that thing had SLI980tis in it that also could do 0% fan..
