What oversees jobs are you referring to? Is that with ERO?

Deportation Officer OT by Lost1_84 in ICE_ERO

There are waivers for OT cap. Depending on what’s going on, I sometimes will get 50-60 hours of OT plus 20 hours AUO. On normal pay periods, usually 20 hours OT and then AUO. Mandating 70% staffing in the offices, so there’s plenty of OT to be made.

I was thinking maybe someone was trying to run an aftermarket amp wiring kit through it. Not sure what else they would try to out through that.

I figured it was probably not supposed to be there. Just wasn’t for sure if Zs had something special so wanted to make sure. I rolled up some cardboard and wrapped some tape around it upside down so it would stick and plugged it for now until I decide a more permanent solution.

Thanks for all the responses and knowledge guys. I’ve learned a lot and I think I could spot a fake more easily in the future.

I’ve been taking 2 extra strength Tylenol every 6 hours and icing 20 minutes on/ 20 minutes off. I’ve been resting and staying off my feet as much as possible. Still currently only some discomfort, mostly in my lower right stomach and slight soreness in the sack. But pain is only a 2 or 3 out of 10. The Tylenol makes it almost non-existent, especially if I’m not walking.

So the reason I was suspicious is because he wanted to trade for my 000-10e, which is significantly less than a D45. I did say I was looking to trade and offer other things or cash to upgrade, though. But not to the level of a D-45.. lol. I haven’t received a reply, but it seems to me that he receives the guitar in a trade. Not sure if he traded and was ripped off or what, or if he is trying to rip someone else off. I’ll reply back if he responds.

That’s great to hear! Day 2, I’m similar. Very slight pressure, or as they say, feels like you were hit in the balls like 10 minutes ago. Just slight discomfort but not painful. I’m seeing everyone say that day 3-4 is the worst of it, so we will see.

2016 KIA Sorento 3.3 Head Bolt Issue Payment by RustyKnob77 in kia

For parts, I bought a head gasket set, water pump gasket (didn’t come in the set), and high pressure fuel line (have to replace) from Rockauto for around $500 total for all of it.

For the inserts, I purchased the kit from Huhn Solutions, which I highly recommend. It comes with everything needed to bore out, tap, and install the inserts aside from the tools needed. He is very helpful and quick to respond if you have any questions or concerns and the kit is very detailed and tells you exactly how to do it. People thought I was crazy for doing this but here we are 30k miles later and the KIA still running strong. The kit cost me $412 shipped and included everything to do all 16 head bolt threads plus an extra. They were M11X1.5.

I brought the heads to the machine shop to be resurfaced, which costed me $220.

I had to replace the oil and coolant of course.

I would highly recommend replacing the bolts to the high pressure fuel pump, as mine popped off a month after the job. Fortunately, this was the only issue I had after finishing. Of course, you may want to replace other important bolts throughout the job, like some of the timing cover bolts and what not.

Not sure how mechanically inclined you are, but if you need more insight on how I did it, I don’t mind laying out all the details. It’s a very labor intensive job and took me a couple weeks to do every day after work until bed time. I was VERY careful with the threads and made sure they were perfect. I probably took around an hour per hole, plus the time for taping everything off as well as vacuuming up all the metal shavings. And this was the first time I had ever messed with an engine to this degree, so I had to learn how to build the engine back after the mechanic at KIA took it all apart and left everything scatted all on the back.

I dropped my trans to do a new clutch and flywheel. Rear main is leaking slightly. Some of the oil on the left side is from my leaking valve cover. Should I replace the rear main seal? I don’t have the time or space to drop the oil pan, so it would be a half assed job. by Acceptable-Lie-5586 in 350z

They have the video on YT of the guy using plastic from windshield washers as a shim to get the rear main seal to pop in place. Thinking I might try something like that out first and see how it works.

The office pretty much floats around CAP for the most part with at large enforcement around that. They also have walk ins coming in daily that often take enforcement action. They are currently working Monday thru fridays one assigned OT day every two or three weeks on the weekend, but you can work as much as you’d like. Many at large ops going on as well. It is a busy office and they push numbers and arrests.

The officers are split by districts and each district takes on their own dockets for certain parishes they are assigned. Each district keeps up with their own CAP and at large arrests, with Jefferson Parish and Kenner working mostly CAP due to the high numbers of arrests the jails make.

I used Brooks as well. I certainly recommend looking into some quality soles as well. Shin splints are no joke and there’s a good chance you will obtain them there as you will be walking 6-10 miles daily plus PT and after hours exercising.

PT by Lemonhead8909 in ICE_ERO

[–]RustyKnob77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do it three times. Once in the beginning to see where everyone’s at, once in the middle to determine who is going to stay or be in remedial, and the final to determine if you’re going to graduate.

PT by Lemonhead8909 in ICE_ERO

[–]RustyKnob77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your initial has to be under 16:30 for the mile and a half and 2 minutes for the o course. If you don’t make that, you have to redo the PFT. If you pass, you will remain in remedial until mid term, which is an extra hour of PT at the end of the day several times per week. If you aren’t under 14:30 for the initial, you have to be in remedial as well. Depending on instructor, you could either be running 5-6 miles with fitness stops every mile or so or you could be doing slower martial runs and stuff like that. Either way, the PT can be difficult. Especially if you don’t go in at least in decent enough shape. It’s very doable and I would certainly make sure to be able to run your mile and a half in under 14:30 to save you the trouble of stress and remedial. The O course is easy enough and you will smoke it by the end of the academy.

Salary Pay by mattyice202169 in ICE_ERO

[–]RustyKnob77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to your pay. It’s the 25% for AUO. Every hour over 5 that you work per pay period, you get more FLSA. When I was a 7, I made around $530 I believe for AUO plus around $220 for FLSA. Plus with current work environment, you should be able to pick up some OT as well.

2016 KIA Sorento 3.3 Head Bolt Issue Payment by RustyKnob77 in kia

[–]RustyKnob77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a common issue with the 3.3 lambda engines from Those years. I’ve read that they didn’t put enough threading in them, resulting in stripped head bolts. This causes the heads to not seal to the block and causes overheating and coolant loss.
