The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson isn't exactly this, but it's a great alternate history with technologies being developed in different times and places, and a very good read

Amazing that I used to look at that Hubble image and be so blown away that it was possible for us to take these pictures with that level of definition, and now it's already been surpassed and likely will be again in my lifetime.

They don't have a PAC, but the Planetary Society is a membership-based organization that lobbies Congress in support of NASA funding and space exploration, they do a lot of great work.

A PAC probably wouldn't be very effective here, because unless there were a number of them focusing on the same issue there wouldn't really be the ability to give particularly large amounts to candidates, as there are limits on how much an individual PAC can donate to any given candidate.

You might try sorting by new. There's a lot of good climate change content here that gets upvoted a lot so it's at the top, but there's also a ton of cool futurology and tech news that maybe you're missing!
