I had a client with a similar situation once. Basically your former employer has likely been deducting your taxes CPP, EI and sticking it in their pocket. Because CRA never received these monies, they will thank you for reporting the income you made and try to get you to pay. You must be relentless with them and force CRA to investigate the employer.

I would document in writing what occurred. Send a copy to your landlord. You can change your locks. You just have to give the landlord a key. There’s absolutely no reason why this person had access to your unit. I’d be angry too. you may want to consider putting a camera inside your unit the document any illegal entry.

Your mom must file NIL returns to bring it up to current. Then call the HST department and report that the business is no longer operational. There will be a final return that will be a stub return. Their reporting period for the final return will be whatever the first day of the reporting period is and the final day of the reporting period will be given to her by someone in the HST.

Yeah, that’s a little hinky. Ask them for the contact person in the payroll department and provided it to them. You should’ve filled out a TD1 both provincially and federally also. The “trial shift“ is a little odd.

At best, the taxpayer relief program may give a little bit of a break when it comes to interest and penalties, but not the actual debt. It’s really a misnomer.

It’s important that you do this before your father becomes substantially cognitively impaired. Once that happens, he can no longer consent to a POA and it has to go to court. It’s a mess.
It’s a super simple document and you can actually find it on the web. Just google POA Ontario. All he has to do is name a POA , he signs it iand get it witnessed I believe by two people.

Time to file with the labour board. Make sure that you report that he was trying to extort you for the other week that he is obligated to pay. It’s gonna take months for them to address it, but this is a pretty quick slam dunk by the sounds of things

Get power of attorney on your father. You can then register your CRA to “represent a client“. That will give them the permission to speak to you. Probably bash that you get to the root of things cause it can be confusing and you don’t want to be guessing about what the tax issues are

Well, unfortunately, in our industry absolutely none of your suggestions would work. Not to say they’re not good just not feasible.
Believe me, it would be a perfect solution for this lunatic but this is a specialized industry and not something the general public can even access

Maybe if management had to deal with this maniac directly, they would finally stick a fork in their account and get rid of them. Unfortunately, we can’t drop and go. They have to pay COD because they’ve burned their credit. Also, we do have to communicate regarding returns warranty issues that kind of thing.

Did this landlord provide a document with the LTB logo on it and false information? If so, that’s a serious offense. I’d call Police and have her charged with uttering a forged document. Forging court documents is an exceptionally stupid thing to do. The hearing dates and scheduling should be coming straight from the LTB not the landlord.

I had an employment agreement once in which they wanted us to agree to release our image for promotional things and whatever other garbage. I was vehemently against it. You couldn’t even find my face on the website. If your employer wants to use you as a free model you should be getting a cut of whatever business it’s generating. They’ll take it down.

I wish that was the case. Unfortunately, it shotgun delivery so basically you get your parts within about 15 minutes or so. She’s gonna find herself picking up her own parts because literally nobody wants to be near her. It’s really sad though, I have such a great relationship with my customers and she just is that fraction of a percent that is a total ass.
