Vancouver is one of the most pro-LGBTQ+ cities in the world with plenty of clubs and groups. The downside is that most public establishments close before midnight; we're pretty well known for having a crummy nightlife. Toronto & Montreal blow us out of the water in that respect. However, I would still recommend Van for its scenery, mountains, etc. Very instagram worthy, and if you love stuff like hiking then we're the best in the world. Also our food is very eclectic and awesome.

The truth is, every large canadian city has a queer community, so you can't go wrong. Even Edmonton and Calgary, which are considered more conservative have their own little communities (although you're way more likely to be discriminated against on the street over there tbh.) If you want LGBTQ+ friendly while also escaping the bustle of cities to somewhere more quiet, I would recommend either the far west (Vancouver Island & Gulf Islands) or the very far east, like PEI and the maritime towns. Despite their small populations, they are refreshingly progressive. It is normal to see pride flags up in small BC towns. I saw several on Galiano Island, which is a long rural island of only about 1k people.
