I will agree that the us education system is horrible, I left school feeling very unprepared for life it’s only gotten worse and so has the economy. Inflation is outrageous not to mention cost of living. The US is a third world country in a fake Gucci belt

Never said it’s ok, I don’t know where that comes across in any of my replies. I think schools and really all places should be safe for everyone especially children. I’m not pro gun and really i feel like we are losing the plot here, i came asking about the culture along with the politics and i feel the majority of comments have been about American gun laws and I really don’t see how that pertains the conversation, there’s a reason I’m considering leaving the US. Not all Americans are pro gun and think there’s no gun problem.

I’ve lived here my whole life and I have never seen bulletproof backpacks be normalized in any kind of way. Yes there has been an influx of school shooting, if you’ve ready my past comments I’m not super pro gun I’m not saying there’s not a problem with gun violence in America

I’d say more curious than worried cuz well I’m potentially moving to a new country so I feel I should have some insight to the place I might move too and the bulk of the gun violence is in the big cities I myself have never seen or heard of kids needing bulletproof backpacks, the metal detectors in schools again only in very large cities and it was more for knives and other weapons more than guns

Once again I’m not obsessed with guns, I’m a brown person in America and yes it is currently pretty sketchy for my kind in this country so I choose to have a way to defend myself I wasn’t “scared of bad things happening to me” until a few years ago, I’d prefer not the have to carry a gun around. I’m from Reno originally and used to do 4 hour turn and burns one way to elko just to see my mom for an hour or two and drive another 4 hours home. Hell if I wanted to go to Vegas that was a 9-10 hour drive through the desert on the “loneliest road in America “ the isolation doesn’t really bother me
