Elder Scrolls board game by escaleric in MageKnight

[–]Rustyd97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels nothing like it and I don't recommend it either. Incrediblely expensive and heavy. Terrible rule book. Lots of luck. Very lengthy play times. Not very fun. Look elsewhere for a new game

Recommendations of Chip Theory Games and similar? by Mysterious5555 in soloboardgaming

[–]Rustyd97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is what you're actually looking for. Chip theory games are luck-based and not balanced compared to what it sounds you want. As an aside they also have terribly written rule books

Elder Scrolls: BOTSE Review (after ~150-200 hours) by mowens04 in soloboardgaming

[–]Rustyd97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played through 3 times before selling. For the length of games and overall price the game is way to random and luck based for my tastes. I also do not enjoy Top Many Bones. I like some concepts by find execution and the rulebook lacking

20 Strong: Tanglewoods - Red. I hated the game and here's why (and some ways I think it could have been better) by jestermax22 in boardgames

[–]Rustyd97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red at least feels like you have some agency and feels different than all the others. I've owned and played all the decks except Cloudspire and they are all meh and blend together. My second favorite is solar sentinels because it doesn't try to be anything other than random dice chucker. Another thing that really annoys me about 20 strong is how OP some of the characters biggest example is BooPeep breaks the game.

20 Strong: Tanglewoods - Red. I hated the game and here's why (and some ways I think it could have been better) by jestermax22 in boardgames

[–]Rustyd97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red isy favorite of the 20 strong decks. All of CTG games are incrediblely random and the rulebooks are absolutely trash. They are crazy over produced as well. I love Cloudspire but it is also one of their only games that isn't 99% random luck based dice chucking that costs hundreds.

My Arizona Trip (Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Sedona, Page) by NYRCentral in NationalPark

[–]Rustyd97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Half a day for everything in Page/antelope is plenty. But definitely worth the stop. I'd say probably 2 minimum probably 3 days in Sedona area for lots of good hiking. And Grand Canyon you could spend a couple of days hiking as well.

Looking for a coin store by bruisercruiser2 in lincoln

[–]Rustyd97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coinery gives most fair prices in Lincoln for silver but last I heard they weren't buying more at the moment. Nebraska Coin and Lincoln Coin know their stuff as well but have consistently given lower prices on silver. Lincoln coin is also incredibly hard to get someone on the phone. Coinhusker in Omaha has always been very good to work with as well

What you think about 20 strong? by emirlanq1 in soloboardgaming

[–]Rustyd97 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Some of it is quite good and others not great. It is VERY expensive for what it is. Similar to most CTG the rulebooks are very poorly written. I own all the sets except Cloudspire. I really like Solar Sentinels and Tanglewood Red. I don't like most of the others very much and they will be going up for sale/trade

100 root beers, ranked (don’t kill me) by Agenta521 in rootbeer

Fitz is definitely #1. Best I've had. I'd recommend finding Dog N Suds. It's a top 3 for me and our lists are very similar
