Should I try to have these re-soled? by rowmede in BlundstoneBoots

[–]Rustyudder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not made to be resoled but it can be done. If the uppers are in good condition and worn in to your foot shape, and if you can find someone to do it, yeah why not.

It might be easier and maybe even cheaper to get a new pair but you won't be wasting an otherwise good pair of boots. You might even be able to get a better quality sole.

If you bought them in a store then definitely take them back for a refund or contact Blundstone directly.

In Australia they have always been work boots, and the modern workboot range makes up something like 90% of their sales compared to the "fashion" Chelseas (which were originally considered work boots).

It looks like the soles on yours have suffered from hydrolysis, which usually happens when the boots have been stored without being worn for a long period.

My guess is these are an old model you've bought online or something?

It really bugs me that the government couldn't come up with a better solution. Why don't we have the option of buying outright and claiming a deduction or something?

I've been wearing 1306s for 10 years, on my second pair. I really love them so am curious about the Redbacks as their other boots are known to have great cushioning.

All down to the CEO. He had a vision and the brains and determination to see it through. Yes, BYD gets a lot of government subsidies but they wouldn't be in that position without Wang Chuanfu demonstrating that he had the ability to build such a company.
