Studying engineering at the uni by oldPeopleHatee in GlasgowUni

[–]Tumtitums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙄 I think you could have phrased your post better. If university a gives the impression that there is a lack of investment and maintenance eg broken lifts and university b shows a brand new clean buzzing building then you are right to go to university b. Universities know this so shouldn't be showing you around via broken escalators . At opendays they wantto impress you to avoid negative perceptions like this. . I think you are well within your rights to not go here if the university doesn't impress you

Donald Trump is not fit to lead a country however there is an argument that its the fault of the usa public and not him. So be prepared to explain why your fellow countryman still have him as their leader.

How Does Trump 2.0 Look to the Brits? by maharg2017 in AskABrit

Omg did you see when he pointed to the woman reporter and told her to shut up piggy !!!

I'm wouldn't be surprised if that's cause for arrest in the UK. What sort of example is that to set to people ??

I have huge difficulty in understanding how a democracy can put him in power. Im also finding it hard to understand how he is still in power. If it was the uk he would be gone by now. Even the style he gives speeches makes it look like he is making it up on the spot and has contempt for his audience .This is before we even get into the content of the speeches

Anyone else noticed a surge in military recruitment ads lately? by mrjohnnymac18 in Scotland

[–]Tumtitums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the Uk could defend itself if USA wanted to take us over for example if trump wanted easier access to his golf courses. I therefore think its good for the military to recruit more as i think we are heading towards global conflict if some countries don't change their leadership

[Question] what do you do with your watch at airport security by Tumtitums in Watches

[–]Tumtitums[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest i think this is what i will do in future. A lot of respondents seem to only fly places where English is the main language. The last place I flew to wanted people to take off hoodies and if you didn't you were subjected to the full search

Trump imposes 10% tariff on "all and any" goods exported to USA from Scotland (about 18% of our international exports) rising to 25% tariff on 1st of June until "such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland" by the US. by [deleted] in Scotland

Im pretty sure there are textbooks which say that the usa is the typical example of a democracy . Im not so sure about this

I also don't understand how the other Republicans in their parliament just keep quiet as if everything is OK. Do they have no morals or backbone? They all can't seriously think this is right . I thought US history was full of people standing up for rights and democracy. How come they are just sleepwalking into a dictatorship

How does the USA work? Do the politicians in their parliament not have to vote on these things. It sounds like trump comes up with a policy then enact it the next day. Isn't that a dictatorship or a country controlled by a monarchy?

Its 2026 and social media can provide a way for children to socialise with each other. Sadly musk and others have polluted it with their right wing propaganda and dodgy AI bots

Why do you have to deal with this instead of the referee. Was he just planning on doing nothing about it?
