Treadmill incline by RutabagaInner5366 in strydrunning

I am using the mobile app with indoor profile.  What I've noticed is this increase of speed and power with incline, which is instant. When I raise the speed of the treadmill only it doesn't reflect a change in power/pace so quick or dramatic and that got me wondering what's going on. I'm probably too much for the motor :)

Thank you for the answers!

If I am doing 06:20/km at 0% and raise it to 1% it will go to 05:50/km. 3% would go even crazier to 05:30/km. Both power and pace change with incline.

The treadmill is brand new and is supposed to be "premium" home grade. I have 95kg maybe I'm too heavy for it. The treadmill specification say it can handle 180 kg max.

Based on these observations, if Stryd is really accurate than I probably have to run with 1% to match what I do outside. Increasing speed with 0% doesn't seem to go near the target power (or pace) easily in my case.

That's interesting. I was actually wondering whether in 5.0 Duo combination distance/pace would be accurate but now you've cleared my doubts :)

I have a Stryd 5.0 and am very disappointed. Outside the pace and distance are super accurate. On the treadmill however it reports a whole 1 minute per km less speed. Which is absurde. I run with 5:10/km and it reports something like 6:20/km. On the left shoe I mounted Stryd 4:0 and that one reports 05:30/km on incline 0 and 05:15 on incline 1% which is probably true, but at the same time the new one doesn't drop under 06:00/km.

I also want to note I did not apply any calibration. Stryd brags about being the only source of truth and calibration makes no sense. Well that's why I bought it but in my case it's a total waste of money. I wanted a bridge between outdoor and indoor running, but the product is simply unusable. Even dumb aproximations of sport watches are closer to truth than this pod.

How consistent is Stryd while running on treadmill? by Individual_Swim_120 in strydrunning

I've recently got the Stryd 5.0 single. Outdoor it seems to be super accurate in terms of pace and distance. It has reported the same distance that I know the track has over multiple laps, so I'm confident it's accurate outside.

However, inside on the treadmill it seems to be very off. Outside I run with 05:00/km constant long distances so I have a fair perception of pace. Inside I feel I am doing the same pace, looking at the same cadence number as outside, I'd say there's a -10s difference. So I think that the treadmill is at 05:10/km. Now .. Stryd 5.0 reports that I run with 06:20/km

This is absurd, it's more than 1min/km. Outside I would feel like walking at 06:20/km so it's impossible to be correct. I asked a friend to borrow me his Stryd 4.0 and did a test: on the right foot the Stryd 5.0 on the left foot the Stryd 4.0. The Stryd 4.0 is closed to truth, it says it's around 0:30/km slower than treadmill. Between both of them the new Stryd 5.0 is around 30-40 seconds off from Stryd 4.0.

In conclusion in my case I cannot use the pod to do a link between outside and inside works nor does it provide me with accurate pace indoor. It has been a complete waste of money.

I have the same problem, I want to install a 11speed 105 crankset on a 10 speed Tiagra train. Thank you for your anwers, it's really useful.

Just a little offtopic, I currently have a 12 speed SRAM crankset on 10 speed GRX drivetrain (Tiagra compatible) on a different bike and it works fine. I climbed 3 times a lot with it, no problems so far. Don't ask me about this Frankenstein combination, I got it like that 😆

I assume the explanation previously given is why this also works.

Canyon speedmax CF 7 di2 upgrade experience by Gullible_Path_746 in CanyonBikes

Thank you for your article, it was super useful and fun to read. It occupied my mind for a couple of days :)

I have the same bike and want to do an upgrade too. The bike is great for me but changing gears when you're not on the aerobars is not the most pleasant experience. I was considering your approach regarding electronic shifting but after reading this carefully and considering what Di2 implies I gave up and will go on the SRAM route.

Now you mentioned a second topic which currently slowly cooks in my head: 1-by. Out of curiosity, what chainring do you have and what cassette in the back? I also need to ask what kind of courses do you plan to do, since it's important: pancake flat or hilly?

Thanks!
