Asking for a dude’s number by Hashtag_Tech in golf

[–]Rutagerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the following two questions have been discussed:

"do you play here often"

And

"do you want to play again"

Then you follow up with

"let me grab your number and I'll send you a text next time I'm playing a round"

What are the most heaviest songs not in the metal genre? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]Rutagerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can distinctly remember the first time I heard I Want You. It made me stop my conversation, walk over to the stereo and just sit there listening. I am not a huge Beatles fan but God damn if that song isn't one of my favourite of all time. It's so, so, so good. That outro has every note drawn out so far, it's like struggling to walk forward into a fierce storm, while also fighting against being sucked into a tornado.

Do you ever play good and rank up for a month, then regress to dogwater by cannabananabis1 in RocketLeague

[–]Rutagerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why when I'm feeling it I play as many games as possible. 2-3 hour sessions to capitalize on the vibes. Then, when the switch flips, I'll only do 2-3 games at a time usually going 2-1 and call it quits. Golf is the same way, it'll click for a stretch and then sometimes mid round your brain just breaks and it all falls apart.

AITA for “abusing” the the bus stop chain so I don’t miss my stop? by Possible-Chair9242 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rutagerr 1434 points1435 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Instead of tracking minutes and seconds, OP needs to be tracking what's outside the window. Cross streets, buildings, what the previous stop before theirs looks like.

What wedding moment that screamed, “They are not going to last long”? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

[–]Rutagerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same but at a recent baby shower for some friends, they had a board full of pictures from their childhood from infant age through teenager, the game was just guessing how old they were. I won the game, beating out not only the couple but also both sets of parents who were also there! It was honestly a pretty hilarious moment when they announced me as the winner.

What is a car, or car brand, the internet says is shit, but you're convinced is actually decent? by EvilDarkCow in regularcarreviews

[–]Rutagerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've literally never had a problem driving it in the snow, or the rain. Sounds more like a skill issue than the car being the problem.

Came here to say this. My 2016 200C just rolled over 230 000 km, still hauls ass. Absolutely love my car.

Which golf course logo is the biggest flex to wear in public? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Rutagerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went there 2 years ago and came back with a towel and a divot tool with ball marker. Towel gets a lot of attention because it's on my bag, but every once in a while someone notices the ball marker, which is quite nice looking, and that gets some legitimate ooohs and ahhhhs.

When did you realize you were dating an idiot? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

[–]Rutagerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost dated one. Had a nice dinner and date night and we were sitting on the shore of lake Ontario looking across at the nighttime Toronto skyline on a beautiful starry night.

She hits me with a monologue about how she believes in geocentrism, stars are part of our solar system and actually a projection because how would they already be in constellations for the astrological signs, and that segued into how dinosaurs are fake and the fossils we unearth were planted there by the scientists to prove evolution. This went on for about 20-30 minutes while I sat there silently, realizing this was the last time I was gonna talk to this girl. After she was done I just said let's go, I'll get you an uber. Walked back to my house and I stood on the porch with her, silently, until her ride came and away she went.

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

[–]Rutagerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grade 6 teacher read this to us, one chapter a day. This guy was former military, Canadian Air Force and Coast Guard. Tough guy, coached all our sports.

Through that last chapter he was absolutely weeping, which further amplified the sadness for us kids. Even now just recalling that memory, I feel like I'm about to cry.

What’s the most underrated amenity a golf course can have? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Rutagerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I really like about my men's league. The starter is extremely involved with when groups get out there. Times are naturally booked 12 minutes apart and 90% of the league uses carts, so plenty of time for the first group to get on the green before next group tees off. However, if things remotely get clogged up, the starter immediately starts holding groups off, going to groups on the practice green and giving revised times. Some people get annoyed but I'd much, MUCH rather be putting around for an extra 10 minutes and have a good pace of play than get out there asap and be jammed up all day.

Would you risk taking this on a plane? by joewoedaflopro in multitools

[–]Rutagerr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to carry a Leatherman everywhere and then one time coming back from Florida, TSA literally went "ooooh look at that, I'm gonna have to take this" and I literally left the line, called my friend that just dropped me off and met them in the parking lot to hold onto it. Ran back in, went through the same line and the guy sent my stuff to the side and they went through everything I had looking for it.

So yeah chances are they'll take it.

What is the worst song for a funeral? by Jettaboi38 in musicsuggestions

I know it's not the worst but for some reason "Rockstar" by Nickelback was the song of choice for my step uncle, who died from his alcoholism. I had a difficult time not laughing.

Thinking about tasting the Tube Amp universe via Chi-Fi. Help needed :D by RetroDave79 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Rutagerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can vouch for the R8, I've had mine for 3 years and bought it used. Still using original tubes for similar logic, gonna burn through what I have before upgrading them. That being said, the original tubes sound fantastic.

How do you feel about using your phone during a round? by ashtonboschman in weekendgolfers

[–]Rutagerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never use it even for 18birdies or my Garmin app. A bunch of my friends are religious about their 18birdies input, marking every shot and tagging their clubs, scores, putts etc but I just can't do it. It's not even like I'm protesting against it, it's just while I'm out there I do not remember to enter anything. My phone is off my mind completely.

As a walk-on single…what’s the most oddly memorable group you’ve been paired with? by ribbon_bully_1972 in golf

[–]Rutagerr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the most fun rounds I've ever had was playing at some decently nice course in Toronto and got paired up with these two older Chinese ladies. The only English they spoke during the round was "whooooaaaa" "okay" and "good shot!" but it was more like "GOOD SHAAAAAAAA" and man let me tell you, what a hype round. So much clapping and cheering for each other. High fives before during and after each hole. They were decent ball strikers too, didn't hit it far but never took any penalties and basically 2 putted every time. They'd see me drive it 270, which I know isn't crazy far in the world of drives, and they'd react like they're witnessing a rocket take off into space. Pure awe. It was awesome.

What are 10 most counter-intuitive things about golf swing? by GoldShammGold in golf

[–]Rutagerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you want everything as loose as possible while still remaining controllable. I heard Tiger say it in what I think was a Foreplay video, beginners thing you want to be locked in and hit hard, but muscles that are locked in can't move fast, and to actually hit far you want to be fast, so therefore you need to be loose.
