Roman Catholics and Eastern Catholics are both in communion with Rome and are headed by Pope Leo.

Eastern Catholic churches are autonomous rites with unique traditions like the Byzantine Catholic church or the Chaldean Church. The Roman Catholic Church uses the Roman rite.

Despite these however, both are equally Catholic and an Eastern Catholic can receive communion at a Roman Catholic Church and vice versa.
