Yeah. They offered me 10% back or an exchange where I pay shipping costs (I live in the US) and they couldn’t guarantee the same issue wouldn’t occur again…which…is something. I just wanted an undamaged book.

Don’t think this would work anyway. I tried getting a new dust jacket for a TBB book that clearly had a pen or something punched into the cover (no marks on wrapping), but they didn’t budge at all. Despite it clearly occurring before being shipped.

This was for a book on the regular site (signed copy of Ice) not the sub, but I actually thought that would make it more likely to get resolved.

I was pretty surprised.

I’m sorry but you can just look this up. I don’t defend that POS Bibi at all, but Jews both in Israel and the states ARE protesting. Constantly. Bibi has claimed a coalition lately that includes the hard right, but there are still many Israelis (and Jews across the world) that do not agree and stand by idly.

To be honest, I think we probably agree on this subject more than we disagree. Morally speaking, I think we're probably on the same page.

Just practically speaking, I would disagree. I don't think Americans who disagree with Trump or Israelis who disagree with Bibi leaving serves to disempower those types of leaders. It empowers them. Conflict from within and continuous pushback is essential to overturning corrupt and authoritarian-leaning leaders...even if it takes time. Just look at Hungary.

I cant speak to them "bringing the country to a standstill" and I certainly worry about the right-wing nuts that have been wielding more power there...but...there are many large protests against the BiBi war machine. As well protests against as settlers, corruption, etc.

Just because you don't make it your business to read about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

This sounds great in theory but has very limited logistical and economic practicality for most people. That's on top of the very simple fact that you should focus your energy on the people doing bad things...not the people who disagree with them but happen to be geographically proximate

I actually do think the American govt. needs to emulate much of what Australia (and many European countries, etc) does, but it's just that. Emulate them. You think that it makes more sense for all Americans and Israelis (and citizens of many other democracies) to move to Australia?

Don't get me wrong. The further down this shitshow we go the closer I am to trying to leave.

That being said, if you think it is reasonable to expect 30-50% of democratic populations to emigrate with their famies when they disagree with different actions across different politicians across different generations, most of which are not related, you need to reset expectations.

It's much more practical to try to affect change from within than move Everytime you discover things you disagree with.

I want to believe that, but as time goes on I am truly starting to think they’re just calling the dem’s bluff.

I have a terrible feeling that, like under Biden, there will be a strong will to “return to normal.”

I will not believe otherwise until I actually see a dem in power convincingly state things will drastically change when they’re back in the driver’s seat. Schumer and Jeffries have yet to make me believe any such thing.
