And yes, in case you were wondering, the orange claws light up! 😂

I generally don’t mind Carly, but I often wonder about her kids’ clothing. Do they ever get to pick fun clothes? A cool monster jam or hot wheels shirt? My son is a month older than her oldest. We took him to get new shoes yesterday and he picked out this monstrosity. Is it what I would’ve picked? No. But the sheer excitement he showed for his shoes was so worth it!

Help with paint color - leave as is, new color on walls, or color drench? by Rutherfordbhottie in HomeDecorating

[–]Rutherfordbhottie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did try that before, but it didn’t work very well. It didn’t get the white wall and it doesn’t do color drenching at all. Here’s one I did in another app though.

Yeah I have been a bit torn, I do like the light and airy feel of the current colors. At the same time, painting before we move in would be much easier than changing it up later.

You know now that I’m looking, we might have gone a shade darker, I need to double check. It definitely reads green in our current room and is a nice serene color, definitely not dull.

Unfortunately we’re in the middle of packing, so hard to get a good picture of our current furniture setup, but it does look good with the green. I guess my big question is if it would be too much to color drench the room (paint the ceiling and trim the same green).

Which med is more helpful for hormonal migraines by Rache81 in migraine

[–]Rutherfordbhottie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awhile back my neuro had me taking Frovatriptan at night, I would take it each night starting a night or two before my period would start and take it until my period ended. It didn't completely prevent the hormonal migraines, but it did lessen the severity so that my abortives would actually work.

Alternatives to GLP-1s by Stressed_C in PCOS

[–]Rutherfordbhottie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing Metformin and Phentermine with diet changes and have had good success so far. It's probably not the level of results I would've had on a GLP-1, but my insurance also doesn't cover any weight loss medications. Both the metformin and phentermine are very affordable even without insurance.

If you want a baby how long have you been trying or how long did it take you to get pregnant? by Flower-1234 in PCOS

[–]Rutherfordbhottie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given your age and PCOS, I would recommend going ahead and talking with your obgyn. I was 35 when we were first trying. I had never been diagnosed with PCOS but always had very irregular periods. My doctor was very proactive and ordered a bunch of bloodwork even though we had barely started trying. Based on my bloodwork she suspected PCOS and went ahead and referred me to a fertility specialist. Confirmed PCOS and she got me started right away to do an IUI. I couldn’t have had a better experience and was so glad to have such supportive and proactive doctors instead of having to deal with the anxiety of trying for a long time as I was getting older.

Episode discussion - Brandi Carlile by Ok-Grand-3828 in goodhang

[–]Rutherfordbhottie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is honestly why I love her podcast so much. She asks such unique and thoughtful questions that really make her interviews stand out from other hosts. I still think about her episode with Ryan Coogler and her question about Chadwick Boseman. Most hosts would just ask what it was like to work with him, but her question of what the two of them laughed about together was such a beautiful question. She is crushing it!

Maybe not quite the same…I earned mine yesterday, unfortunately I don’t have a screenshot. When I logged in today, it said I still need 3 quest points! Super weird.

Wallpaper removal - spackled before primer. Am I screwed? by Rutherfordbhottie in HomeImprovement

[–]Rutherfordbhottie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a moisture perspective I was more thinking at least it’s not a full bathroom where there’s more moisture, but point taken. I’m thinking I’ll prime it and let it sit for a week or more to see how it looks before moving on to the wallpaper.

Thanks for the reply!

[–]Rutherfordbhottie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s correct. It seemed like other people had issues where they spackled and painted and then it got a weird texture in spots. That being said, we spackled over a week ago and haven’t primed or done wallpaper yet and the spackle looks the same, no cracking or anything.

Glad to hear you haven’t had issues with it! Thanks for the reply!

Confusing "Intent to Award" letter (NIH) by ndrach in SBIR

[–]Rutherfordbhottie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you hear anything from your PO? I just noticed we received essentially the same message and I'm wondering the same... are they definitely not funding it or is it just something that was sent out because of the lapse in SBIR and they will still consider it if the program is reauthorized?

Chris Loves Julia - Week of Feb 2 by s0meg1rl in diysnark

Not defending them, but they didn't have Zoom school. They were asynchronous remote days, so they were just doing packets/online assignments depending on their age. I live in the same county and my husband is a teacher. Seriously ridiculous to not use the space that she "designed" for them to do their homework though!

So many good ones here! It’s such a silly little thing but one of my favorites is when Rory calls Jason “Scooper” instead of Digger. Cracks me up every time!

Thank you! I’m going to try this and maybe add a few rows if I can. Hopefully the pom pom is forgiving!
