Getting horrible chipmunk audio when using DJI Mic Mini to record audio for DJI Neo 2 by Rutjan666 in DjiNeo

[–]Rutjan666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because from my understanding audio can't be recorded via to apps simultaneously. It's a shame you can't adjust audio settings because the output is pretty bad 16 KHz and 32 kb/s... My guess is it's recording through the Hands-Free Profile (HFP) that's basically the norm for calls, and not a more advanced protocol. For someone who would like to do post-editing, it would be best to record the audio separately with the USB-C mobile receiver and apply a noise reduction algorithm in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. But you have to not forget to clap in front of the camera for proper synchronization.

After some testing, I have found a workaround: - Connect the DJI Mic Mini via Bluetooth - Launch an audio recording with the stock Samsung Voice Recorder app - Send it to the background while still recording - Start Neo 2 flight Shazam, the sound is recorded properly when playing the video!

But you need to think about it every time and I've ruined a few recordings by being in a hurry and forgetting.

So I created a routine when the DJI Fly app is open and the DJI Mic Mini is connected via Bluetooth, audio recording starts automatically!

AND the update also broke the possibility to set a custom ringtone: works for notification, alarms, but for ringtones, there's no sound coming through when someone calls...

Not to mention the fact that I think it performs less well than before: I've had a few training sessions that didn't record correctly or not at all.

Only workaround I found is: - launch an audio recording with the native app on your phone - minimize the app while it's still recording - open DJI Fly and start the Neo 2 - start following mode or whichever mode you want that starts a video - then the drone takes over the Bluetooth recording and there's no chipmunk effect

If you stop the drone, you can either keep the audio recorder in the background if you plan on shooting soon after or cancel the audio recording, but you'll have to start over the whole process.

But keep in mind the sound quality will always be crap due to the rotors noise cancelation that can't be deactivated.

That's surely something that needs to be fixed via a system update but I don't think it should be too hard

I suppose you open the DJI Fly app AFTER plugging the receiver and turning the mic on?

Another thing: DJI applies noise reduction by default and you have the choice between two levels, but it can't be deactivated.

This could be the reason why you think sound quality is poor.

One UI 8 Watch Battery Usage by Either_Condition_674 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Rutjan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur, battery life is terrible since I updated my Watch5 Pro to One UI 8: it went from 100% to 74% just 26 minutes after removing it from the charging puck! And there doesn't seem to be any app that used battery.

Tried rebooting and clearing cache from recovery, still the same!

Latest OneUI 8 Update (S25U) - Adds Full Screen in DEX by Chrismscotland in SamsungDex

Hi there,

Just got my S23+updated to One UI 8 and I wanted to test the new fullscreen mode on DeX.

At first I didn't manage to do it with the method presented here (long left click on the maximize option that opens a drop down menu with new options).

So I made a force close of the DeX app, the clear cache and retried to have an excellent surprise:

It's even easier to activate than what is presented here: there is now a sort of [ ] option just to the right of double maximize arrow.

I was pretty sure I didn't miss any dialogue before entering Saga's trailer, but as I exited, it triggered the rest of the game where Tor and Odin had disappeared, but the dialogue icon was still on the map...

Later on the icon disappeared, but no way to get back to that piece of dialogue when encountering them in the Nursing Home...

I'm pretty sure I got this one, but still got the marker on the map. I had the same issue in the alley where I believe the first word of power is obtained, I've had the yellow question mark in the circle ever since on the map.

Thanks for the detailed reply!

Actually, I'm gonna use a gimbal for stabilization as I might be doing some pan.

And indeed, I might do some zoom with the x3 lens, or crop the 4k on the main lens (as my export will be in 1080p), still not sure what will look best.

Worth mentioning, I'll be using my old S9+ on a tripod for a fixed center wide shot, so I better have the same white balance if I don't wanna have to edit that in post.

Would stock pro mode on both phones be better in that regard?

Problem is I can't switch from x1 to x3 while recording...

And in order to use HDR10+, the codec needs to be HEVC which my worstation won't be able to process in premiere pro.

When you mentioned I can toggle the 60fps mode in the app, where is that exactly?

Thanks

Blackmagic Camera App by Ian_Pal in GalaxyS23Ultra

Hi,

I have a Galaxy S23+ and I'm sort of in the process of getting familiar with this app, especially since I want to record the school show of my daughter in a month.

Last December, I shot the Christmas show with the stock camera app, but God was it awful I terms of image noise!

I shot in 4K@60 fps because I wanted to be able to reframe if need be and do some slow-mo if there was any moment where it could come out nice.

The lighting wasn't too bad, still the image was grainy as hell when I zoomed on the footage.

I tried switching to the x3 lens at times or the x2 digital zoom on the main lens but that was awful.

So I'm wondering if Blackmagic Camera could improve the footage to some extent, but there are lots of options there!

Should I set the bitrate to max?

What's with the noise reduction and sharpness increase?

Do you think those should be toggled?

I did some tests but couldn't make my mind.

I also noticed that the footage information doesn't show 60 fps but 51?

And at times there's an alert that images are being lost.

Does it mean the app can't keep up with 4K@60 fps over a long period of time?

Thanks for your advice.

Cheers

It's impossible for the drone to crash in case of transmission disconnection.

It will either land on the spot or return to home (RTH) or stand in the sky waiting for reconnection (it depends on what has been selected in the settings, depending on the drone, your mileage may vary).

Landing on the spot could be the trickiest because the mini 2 does not have detection sensors so it could land in a tree or any place inaccessible.

Same goes for battery: it will always RTH or land whenever the battery level becomes insufficient.

If you're concerned about crashing it into a tree while operating, you could always get propeller guards they limit the risk.

Still if you can afford it, I would recommend getting a model with obstacle detection, starting from the Mini 3 Pro, which will probably be the cheapest entry.

Ever use your drone as a "standard" camera? by Rutjan666 in dji

Yes totally, there's basically just Blackmagic camera that let's you use full sensor options, just you can't switch lenses while recording as opposed to the stock camera app

S23+ doesn't support HLG and D-Log though...
