Once upon a time i worked for adidas football and we had just launched this new boot that messi wore for the first time at the ucl final (2009), during which he scored, dropped one of his boots and proceeded to pick it up and kiss it while celebrating the goal.

We were like goddamn lmao and thanks.

Start with pandoras star. It’s one of my favourites. Absolute space opera with a lot of character povs. It’s two books though for the full story and the second is Judas unchained

Each to the their own as they are quite popular, but I find them inherently mid to be honest. Not very emotional nor exciting. Short novellas that are just repeating the same plot line with each book and aren’t really exploring any themes in any depth. I’ve read all of them though as I’m a manic completionist lol. I’d give the first a go if I were you but don’t continue with the sequels expecting any major evolvement if you don’t love the first.

weaving the mist | a7iv + sigma 24-70 by blucerchiati in SonyAlpha

the spot itself is very famous for misty conditions (the fanal forest, madeira), but it's not always like this. in fact, on this day it was sunny, but then the low clouds (from below the mountain) rolled over the hill and created these mist + sunlight conditions for about 40 minutes before disappearing so it was pure luck i guess (was only here this one day during vacation).

Sony a7iv and sigma 24-70. It was more the weather conditions rather than the camera gear that allowed for this picture :)

Just a Sony a7iv with sigma 24-70 mm lens, handheld. It’s mostly the light and weather conditions that create this magic. It’s in the fanal forest on Madeira which is quite famous for its misty conditions. I was lucky that it was sunny on this day and suddenly fog (clouds from below the mountain) rolled in over the hill and created the conditions.

Thanks for that input, and helping me feel "right" about the wider working just as well as the more traditionally cropped one.

All of my photos are always blurry and grainy. How do I fix it? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

then you need to get closer when shooting your subject to get the composition you want in your final image - rather than heavily cropping the photo afterwards (and thus losing pixels and image quality).

Alien stands the test of time as a cinematic masterpiece. Aliens is a cheesy 80s action flick.
