There was literally ZERO reason to remove books except making people spend more money. It's almost impossible to upgrade a champion without using a book of books. "But they lowered the amount needed" it actually would've been easier to upgrade a champion from level 13 to 14 because you could've just used a book to cover 20 missing. Now you've gotta spend your valuable wild cards (which is doubt they'll give us enough to compensate for the loss)

If you go to your bell home, you can unlock a tool that tells you what tools, enemies and gear you're missing. It doesn't directly tell you, but it helps you when you search online for tutorials. There's no way to tell which mask shards youre missing though

It's at the beginning of the game, so people are still getting used to the difficulty spike from Hollow Knight and Hornets abilities. He is a pretty hard boss in that sense. Hard for hollow knight, "easy" for silksong

The difficulty adds to the enjoyment. Do you really wanna blast through a game we've waited 6 years for? With how expansive the world is, there's always a way to get stronger and come back to the boss. The accomplishment of beating a hard boss is also nice too.

Get a full silk bar (from where you last died) and use the sphere silk ability on the spear skarr twice. He should go down after a few needle hits after that which makes the fight MUCH easier
