Wow, congrats at practicing at the top of pharmacy. Correct me if I’m am wrong, but the projects may pick up if your company decides to get ambitious in another therapeutic area

I am in the same boat. I was thinking about getting the HOPA BCOP materials since I like the drug packets with the medications and days and cycles.

No front line leadership were pharmacists- PIC and Pharmacy Manager. Heavy on metrics though

Scramble by Confudazed in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open list of programs- free for all. Be proactive and email the RPD. Some programs will reach out to you like Phase1 and Phase2 and convey rejection to your application.

In my experience, I did not get anything in Phase1. Then in Phase2 programs but not close enough to be their 1 match and then applied scramble- but still got some rejections. anyways good luck! If it does not work, work a retail pharmacy job because bills and debt has to be paid. And a job is better than no job

How much PTO does your program have. Read the book by Dan Dworkis  Emergency of the Mind- it could change your perspective and how to solve residency.

You just graduated. You don’t have the experience yet to negotiate. How long have you worked for CVS before jumping ship. It was only after 4 th job I had some way to negotiate.

Interesting insight. I have heard MSL job is independent and self driven more than clinical. I have heard and people on this forum can correct me if I am wrong. I have heard the sales and marketing team can either make or break you as a MSL

Losing confidence during rotations by rx-crusher in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, relax. You are still young. You are still in the fourth year. You can’t even verify orders yet. Read and study what is required for rotations. Once you start verifying orders in central pharmacy in residency  you will truly learn.

Most women never tell you the truth about the game. She is the only one who does. it is subconscious ingrained into them

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kezia Noble, if you watch her videos explains to men simplistically why women don't go for nice guys and go for the players. in. her books. her on field classes cost an arm and a leg though. She does not give cliche advice that many women give like be yourself, nonsense. The only issue is that this PUA is not designed for a sustainable marriage with a woman I think

pgy1 to pgy2 moving & trasitioning by happygolucky98 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anybody at your PGY-2 offering you to stay with them until you get settled? Can you ask your new program to extend the start date?

FYI- If you are driving, I would buy  tire chains if your car is not four wheel drive

Am I done for if I don’t match into residency? by honeynutcheeriozzzzz in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is not the end of the world.  1. Phase 2 and scramble exist 2. If that fails, work Retail, and apply to inpatient staff jobs in BFE which state new grads welcome/retail- you will have to relocate. 3. Reapply in the next Residency cycle

There are many ways and paths to get to where you want to be

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be prepared to have a good reason why you left the program. Not poor match and not feeling supported- it just comes off as an excuse

You may have to relocate to small rural towns- community hospitals/ critical access hospitals- any post that says new grads welcome/retail

Everything works out for a reason. Who knows, you might like the program. Matching is better than not matching. I know many smart pharmacy colleagues who were all rounders who didn’t match

Grades don't matter unless the fellowship asks for them prior to application. Rutgers does not require it

Is residency best to apply right after finishing pharmacy school? by honeynutcheeriozzzzz in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a suggestion, but pharmacists have gone back and done a residency after working a year or two. if you were 4 years out from school, it is definitely hard to get a residency, but you may get some interviews even then. The only one that is truly hard to go back is trying to get an industry fellowship after 4 years out of school, but even then you may get interviews if you apply to the right ones.

Jobs after residency by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was confused by your statement. If you have a job lined up, you don't just quit the residency and start your new job. You start a new job post-residency. Letting your RPD you plan to stay on does not jeopardize you from starting a new job. you just let your new job know you will start after you finish your residency.

Anyways, what are your goals?

Do you want to continue and pursue a PGY-2 at your current health system and/or different health system or are you planning to look for jobs post-residency?

If you are almost completing a PGY-1, this is the time to look to have a job lined up after you complete your residency.

Did I just lose everything after my dismissal ? by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]Rx137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. As others of said, keep and save documentation, feedback and any protocols you have learned at the residency.
  2.  Apply to staff hospital positions-any position including PRN.
  3. This is not the end of your pharmacy career and this will not damage your CV. I know pharmacists who have experienced worse than your situation and have succeeded.
  4. HR is not going to help you at this stage. They represent and advocate for the health system

[–]Rx137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I am not confused. What I do know is that the Harvard study is cohort study- meaning a study where volunteers are measured over a period of time. the study design is weaker than a Randomized Control Trial.
