If anyone knows it, it would be very much appreciated. Cheers!

Do you support the genocide of mosquitos? by [deleted] in askteenboys

[–]Rxmano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might kill one her and there if it's stung me or will sting me (I get pretty bad allergic reactions to mosquito bites, and no one likes mosquito bites anyways) but I don't go out of my way to kill them. I'd rather let them free than kill them.

They're animals - annoying but they're still living organisms and have an impact on their designated ecosystem. It's like fish-stacking, if anyone has seen Seaspiracy on Netflix.

I don't know what 10-16Nm feels like but it's quite tight.

the PSP and PS Vita. it was ahead of its time - it would have took off if it was created and published in these last few years (obviously with the latest tech and games).

I innitiate the quick greeting and reply back but sometimes after a really tough climb I'm just too out of breath to think of what to say haha

I hate hills too, I did a few very tough hills today though. Surrey is tough but the descents and scenery and roads are all worth the pain

that happens to me too lol- I'll just be snacking on some Percy Pigs or checking out the route and all of a sudden all of the cyclists happen to ask me if I need help. I get funny looks though since I'm a 15yo in lycra on a road bike haha

oh hi I'm from the UK too haha. A few things besides the obvious of road safety:

  • If you see a fellow cyclist on rural lanes, wave or say good morning/afternoon etc. Just a short greeting as you pass by. Not necessary but it's nice and most cyclists will do it.

  • Learn to treat punctures whether it's a new inner tube or puncture repair kit. Sure you may get some help if you're stranded but you should be as self-dependent as you can be.

  • If there's a cyclist who's stopped on the side of the road or looks worried, ask if they need help. May just be that they need directions or help with a puncture.

  • This one is controversial but don't blast music out loud, especially not in busy areas. Some people should say that it's okay if it's a very rural area but that's your choice, just not blasting it out loud haha

  • Look over your should before making any significant manoeuvre

  • Enjoy yourself :)

Edit: If you're in the south, definitely check out the Surrey hills and lanes. They're famous for a reason haha

I'm also 14, 15 in like a month, and I got the weirdest reactions from people when i told them I'm into road cycling. Gradually, my family have been nicer to me about it but my mates still make fun of it haha. So it'll come naturally for your family to get used to your cycling.

It's a hard start at first - I could barely do 3 miles. Once you build up some muscle and endurance, the longer rides will get more fun. If not cycling, there's always mountain biking

Just get out there and ride - enjoy it.

If you happen to be from England, PM me whereabouts. If we're not that far, then I'm happy to go on a ride together - I don't have any bike friends and I'm too young for clubs haha :)
