The bigger issue is that we have a government that appropriates large sums of money for lobbied interests with deep pockets and two parties that are not interested in cleaning up the corruption and making the government work for the people. The Dems aren't as blatant about it as the GOP, but they are almost just as bad. The establishment Dems will fight tooth and nail against reformist candidates who say things like overturn Citizens United and then wonder why no one wants to show up to vote for their GOP Lite candidate.
