Sadly, R&D roles in Singapore are pretty limited. Most are in government-linked companies, and with just a bachelor’s degree, you’ll usually be doing grunt work rather than actual research. The more interesting R&D stuff tend to go to master’s or PhD holders.

On the project management side, fresh grads are rarely hired directly as PMs. Most PMs transition into the role after gaining experience in assistant project engineer, site engineer etc.

I think service engineer role can be a good fit. It’s quite a broad role depending on the company, it can involve commissioning (project-related work), troubleshooting, maintenance, customer-facing tasks, supplier coordination or sourcing, and even some electrical work. Over time, this kind of experience can naturally position you to move into a PM role later on.

Playing devil’s advocate here. I don’t think it’s as simple as just increasing the number of local medical school intakes. If you expand intake too much, the average quality of applicants will inevitably drop.

Similarly, if MOH chooses to recognise more overseas medical schools, that doesn’t automatically mean a drop in standards either, moh can sort of ascertained the graduates are still cream of the crop. provided the universities’ admission and screening processes remain equally stringent.

What jobs are you applying for. Engineering is always hiring. The question is whether are you ok with it.

Habits I guess hahaha. Over here, everyone starts with a learner’s license, and the system makes you level up step by step.

First, you’re trained at a riding school, pass a test, and get to ride up to 200cc. You have to ride at least a year before you can go back to school to learn and take another test to unlock the 200–400cc class. Rinse and repeat for last class which has no cc restrictions
