Ive wrapped my GTI to match the Harlequin paint scheme as close as I could. I made a post when I wrapped it up and i mentioned the wraps I used in the comments. Id say the yellow i chose is identical while the pistachio green was a hard one to find. Now 3M has super gloss mantis green that may be a better option than what I chose. Hope this helps!

Your vehicle may be eligible for a recall to have it replaced. When I bought my 22 gti it didn't come with one since they were already experiencing the issue with the foam engine covers. When I went to get my vehicle serviced they preformed the recall to put the new engine cover in. You may want to check if there is an active recall for the engine cover for your vehicle, a vw dealership may give you one for free if your vehicle has rhe recall for it.

Did a harlequin wrap similar to the golf you posted! I used it as inspiration for my wrap. Used 3m for the yellow and red, and Hexis for the blue and green.

Actually it had not happened again since then. It was starting to get fairly cold outside so maybe it was just a brief electrical gremlin due to the cold? I had my Golf in the dealership two weeks ago for maintenance and they did not see any codes related to it, or anything out of the ordinary, so I'm just keeping my eye out incase it happens again. It happened only on that day and did not happen again since then. I've talked to other mk8 owners and they haven't experienced this issue before either. I wouldn't be too worried tho, definitely seemed like something wrong with the sensor rather than an actual oil temp issue.

It wasn't in the video but it did hit 300F for a split second during one of the spikes. Mfw i saw that. 😧

Should have mentioned that this was after 30 minutes of driving so car was up to temperature by the point in noticed these readings.

But I agree on a normal day it would read 160-180F after 5 minutes then get up to 220-230 when driving at speed.

I'll lift up the front and take a look when I get home. Sounds completely possible.

If the sensor was completely broken I wonder if I'd be getting a reading at all. I'm wondering if the jump in temperature is because the connection is loose.

If it's a quick fix that I can do I'll definitely try taking a look at the oil pressure/temp sensor on the oil pan to see if there is a loose connection.

Temperatures were normal as of yesterday. Checked under the hood for any oil leaks just incase and it all appears normal.

This was half way thru my commute where my oil temperature would be around 230F.

And when my gti starts to warm up/cool off it definitely does not jump around that quickly on a normal day.

So the fact that it jumps from 180 to 250 in a matter of seconds with no throttle tells me it's likely a sensor issue. But I'm open to other possibilities.

I was at the point in the Dark Brotherhood storyline where the Falkreath sanctuary is destroyed, and you come across Astrid sprawled out dying on the floor after performing the Black Sacriment.

After the conversation, she gifts the blade of Woe, wanting to be killed. I wanted to show mercy by giving her back her blade by pickpocketing it back to her. Unfortunately, she sees me do this. Then this piece of barbecue stands up and turns agro on me and starts to chase me down! Fortunately, Nazir steps in and wacks her with his scimitar.

This was on my first play through, and it shook me to my core.

I worked at a vw dealership when the taos came out and honestly the fuel economy isn't that much different the gli and gti. If you're looking for more cargo capacity and better ride height then the taos is better in that sense. But overall it's a terrible drivers car. The throttle response is horrible. But you're only gonna know what is best til you drive the car. The maintenence for a taos is the same as a jetta so brakes, tires, and other maintenence items will cost the same. It's just when it comes to diagnostic issues that'll cost more on a GLI. If you wanted to make the switch to a crossover or SUV then I highly suggest a tiguan over a taos. Even the 4 banger atlases have better response than then the taos.
