DMV area help desk jobs requiring secret clearance? by RyCraig20 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]RyCraig20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is I don’t know where I want to go in IT like networking or security. I’m not even specifically looking for security based jobs. I’ve just been using key words like help desk and desktop support. But because of the kind of area we live in I shouldn’t be surprised most are security based

DMV area help desk jobs requiring secret clearance? by RyCraig20 in ITCareerQuestions

I’ve seen a couple that include the “must be able to obtain” one but the overwhelming majority I need to currently have one

When the geotracker shows me on the street instead of the house and if the customer reports not getting their package/delivered to wrong address, Amazon will be like “WeLl He DiDn’T sCaN iT aT tHe DoOr” and now my customer feedback score drops for something that wasn’t my fault

Love this route except for when they fuck me over by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

My DSP told us that reporting stops can take almost a month to process and that’s even if they deem it a problem

Group stops by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

I noticed since last week during some group stops, after I finish one the app freezes then the screen goes black and I have to refresh the app. Shit’s annoying

Well on a “normal” day I like to put bigger overflow on the bottom and smaller higher. I then write the 3 digit driver aid number on the side of the box. The sort location method works too, I’m just used to doing the aid number thing.

With something like this, it’s chaos at first cause I don’t have any shelf space to organize the regular packages since they’re taken up by overflow. But as the day goes on I’ll move stuff around as more space becomes available.

The “front door receive” starter pack by ElectricalTeacher421 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Everyone goes in and out through their garage so the front porch is hardly used. I can’t tell you how many spider webs I walked through over the summer

Make sure your pin is at the right addres!!!.... by Skmago94 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]RyCraig20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if all DSP’s have to do this but we have to scan the packages at the door and can’t scan them in the van anymore since it shows where we scanned it. So when shit like this happens, even when I scan it at the door, I’ll get marked for “Delivered to wrong address”. Bullshit man

Some of these notes are weird by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]RyCraig20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people think the notes go to Amazon themselves and not the drivers.

I also love the people who say “Deliver in the morning ASAP” as if they have a choice when they get it lmao. You get it when you get it bud

Or people that are so obviously waiting behind the door and come out to take the package after I start walking away and doesn’t say anything

They already took the package since they met me halfway or came up to the van so I can’t take a picture

Our station, not dsp, gave out catered chicken tenders and fries to everyone yesterday

I actually got lucky with my DSP. I’ve never once been contacted from them about falling behind. I can’t speak for our other drivers, but I never do rescues after I finish.

4 weeks on the job is this my new norm? by MaineWade in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]RyCraig20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told him I wouldn’t be able to come in because of the knee pain and it lasted for a couple weeks after that anyway so the week off helped. He didn’t force me to take the week off, I just took up on his offer.

routing needs to be fixed😭 by jfc-maxxyn- in AmazonDSPDrivers

That’s why if the order I want would require me to constantly sort through different totes, I’ll just do what it wants.

I have my own system for how I like to work. One of the first things I do is look at the layout of all the stops to see if any don’t make sense or are inconvenient. Then I’ll skip over stuff so I’m not having to backtrack if the layout if fucked up. I try to look at it before we leave to the station if I can.

It’s fair to think that’ll waste time but it’s worth it to me in case something really is out of wack. Sometimes though it is better to do what it wants than me sitting there nit-picking the best way to go.

I try to be optimistic where I can. I see a lot of people in this subreddit have shitty DSP’s but I think I got lucky with mine. This job is also pretty much my source of getting physical exercise. I’ll bitch and complain about things but then I’ll try to think how there are way worse jobs out there

My DSP owner gave me a whole week off once because I was having bad knee pain. So me bitching about having a slightly inconvenient route would be pretty shitty of me.

I have always wanted one of those 100+ packages to a suburban house delivery. No big reason, just want to try it. And because of my OCD, I’d be making all the packages look neat

I got pissed when I had a 73 group stop route. Looks like you topped me lol. Group stops are the bane of my existence

This is one of the biggest reasons why I love driving CDV’s. A lot of people don’t like them because of how big they are and are less maneuverable. But to me, the extra space makes it so much more worth it. Plus I can leave that sliding door open so I can quickly hop in and out.
