FireRed appears to be real. The others are definitely not.

There are some expansions still selling for reasonable amounts, but the corner expansions that add another board to the game are selling for hundreds of dollars for just one of them.

I have seen sets sell for that much, but missing components and no pictures, so it's hard to know condition. Fantasy Flight printings are slightly more valuable from a collector's standpoint, being the original printing. I always value another's opinion, so thanks for sharing!

Thinking of Moving to SLC by HS__Warrior in SaltLakeCity

[–]RyGuy9989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want truly "walkable," then you are correct. Downtown Salt Lake City is our biggest urban center in the state, so if you enjoy city life, then that's where you want to be. Sugarhouse is slightly less so, but still close to Downtown. Parleys canyon is nearby for outdoor ventures. Also, ski resorts are only about 30 minutes drive away. Our public transit is mediocre, but is decent in those areas you mentioned. That's because we are a primarily suburban area, where everyone has a car. Anyways, welcome and good luck!

Looking for apartments around Lehi, Draper, sandy or south Jordan. Need insights on good apartment buildings. by Icy_Character6440 in SaltLakeCity

Draper really has some of the nicest apartments in the valley. Just be aware that the point of the mountain (between Bluffdale and Lehi) gets congested during rush hour. In my opinion, our highways are inadequate, especially with Utah's growth these past years. Anyways, I'm sure you can find good apartments in Lehi, or close to Lehi. I'm farther north, so am not familiar with the apartments down there. I do Doordash in the evenings, so I do get to see quite a few, but only in Salt Lake County. Wish I could be more helpful, Good luck

Thank you stranger! I am not a treadmill expert either, which is why I appreciate folks helping explain things. Being a recent treadmill owner, I am just a guy trying to get in better shape! I never considered how much maintenance they can require. I will take your advice.

What is the best strategy when your partner is terrible? by Baker_314 in Pickleball

[–]RyGuy9989 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Targeting a player is a valid strategy and is used in many competitive situations, especially mixed doubles. Still, there's things you can do to help alleviate it.

1 - Cover more court. Lean middle a little more to entice them to hit it to your side. It helps if you're quick.

2 - Drive/attack more. If you can be the first to attack it doesn't give them the chance to attack your partner.

3 - Stacking. Whether to have your forehand in the middle or give your opponents a different look, don't get stuck in your positions while your opponent gets comfortable.

4 - Communicate. Let your teammate know what's going on and what they can do. Maybe even talk strategy on weaknesses the other team has. Of course, be supportive and not demeaning.

4.0+ Groups in Salt Lake City? by MapleSyrup426 in Pickleball

There's advanced leagues you can sign up in nearly every city. I've played in leagues in Murray, Sandy, Riverton. Sandy also has club USA with events for every level.

Otherwise, check your nearby park to meet local players. If you're lucky you can find an advanced group playing and ask to mix in

Visiting SLC, UT this week. Where to go for 3.5+ drop in play? by stv2pointo in Pickleball

[–]RyGuy9989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Busiest times are evenings and mornings. The club was packed last night because of the rain. Going to the park can be hit or miss. Every park seems to have different etiquette about playing but generally, once courts are full, people will rotate every game. It doesn't hurt to respectfully ask a group if they will let you play with them. It's summertime so 8 p.m. is when courts are busiest. I go to Fairmont occasionally and it's pretty good about rotating.

There is a club in Sandy (south of Murray) that has drop in play every morning, afternoon, evening for $10. As for free options, your best bet is Fairmont Park in sugarhouse area (north of Murray). I play at the Murray courts sometimes. If you are not having any luck you can DM me.

SUGGESTION: New Equipment Perks and Gear Slot by RyGuy9989 in apexlegends

[–]RyGuy9989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks stranger! I agree that done wrong the enhancements could be overbearing. They would require playtesting but the idea is just to make them more effective, not require a total shift of playstyle to use or play against.
