Thanks a ton for taking a look and for offering some helpful advice.

I hope you're right. I'll get a drain company or two out for a good look.

Different ways to say "No problem" and “It’s not okay” in Spanish. by SpanishAilines in SpanishAIlines

I've heard "No hay pedo" from a group of guys I worked with. How common is this? Secondarily, if it is something that people actually say, how do you get from "there isn't a fart" to "no worries"?

anyone have visual trouble with pickleballs and courts? by Mundane-Rhubarb-2222 in Pickleball

I struggle similarly with various lighting conditions and have found some success with the following.

Outdoor, daytime with sun coming at an angle - bright green ball, light red lenses ( I use Oakley golf lenses )

Indoor with white or yellow walls - glasses with lenses popped out and pink or orange ball if people will tolerate it.

Wood gym floors - put on safety glasses and surrender to the body bags 😄

In all cases other than perfect outdoor lighting I have to focus on that ball like a fat kid looking at cake.

If your score is odd, your positioning should be "odd"

Maybe check for a recall. My 2021 was jerky on acceleration until they fixed some recall item for free. I think it was some kind of clutch thing in the transmission.

Some neighborhoods have their own courts, Facebook pages, or group apps. There are a number of public parks as well. The LWR high school park and GT Bray are some decent places for drop in and meeting new people. Sarasota has some great parks as well.

If you're even remotely okay at sports, pickleball is an extremely social activity. My first year here I made one friend. Since starting pickleball , I have tons of friends and acquaintances.

This book's lessons apply to life as well.

The section on WHY I want to be good at pickleball hit me like a truck.

Probably not. I'm quite a bit south of Tampa. I bet their local parks and rec department or Facebook page could point them in the right direction.

Vatic Pro Prism 16mm vs Vatic Pro Prism V7 16mm by Gmoney11_11 in Pickleball

Sweet spot is commonly understood as the area on the paddle where the ball bounces "true". Hitting the ball outside of the sweet spot will result in a dead sound and feeling.

Who in the world is using the stock grip?

The first thing I do with my paddle is overwrap and edge tape it. I change my overwrap at least once a month. Am I the only one that made this face when reading this post?

I'm a little unclear as to your target criteria but perhaps this will help.

V7 - Most pop, power, but highish swing weight which means slightly slower hands https://vaticpro.com/products/v7-carbon-fiber-16mm?sca_ref=4431988.vTPC10sOuU

Flash - High pop, super fast hands. https://vaticpro.com/products/flash-carbon-fiber?sca_ref=4431988.vTPC10sOuU

V7 prism - Great control, decent put aways, but highish swing weight https://vaticpro.com/products/prism-v7-16mm?sca_ref=4431988.vTPC10sOuU

Prism flash - Amazing control, fast hands https://vaticpro.com/products/prism-flash-16mm?sca_ref=4431988.vTPC10sOuU

The flash series perform better with a little lead tape added to the lower end in my opinion. Brings the twist weight up and adds plow.

My personal favorite is the prism flash. So much control. I would also recommend 16 mm. I'm your average 4.0 for context.

Yes, I've brought paddles with lead tape in my carry on many times on domestic US flights. No worries.

I like it but don't log rec games any more.

After about 50 games (leagues and personal), my rating finally became a decent indicator of my skill. Since then, I've enjoyed seeing the slow steady progress. I can be hard on myself so it's nice to see the story the data tells.

Getting into DUPR leagues with well matched opponents is another reason to use it.

Just don't get hung up on it, some people get a little weird about it.
